Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Zippi doubled 2025 revenue, portfolio, and volume, signaling strong product-market fit.
  • It targets R$10 billion transactions in 2026 after raising R$220 million in FIDC funding.
  • Breakeven and R$350 million under management by 2026 reduce existential financing pressure.

What critics are saying

  • Pix Parcelado, Pix Automático, and bank competitors compress Zippi's advantage by 2026.
  • Credit Saison's entry proves scale, but FIDC dependence exposes refinancing risk during credit tightening.
  • Brazil's 21 million micro-businesses are fragmented; a single underwriting shock can cripple portfolio growth.

What makes Zippi unique

  • Zippi underwrites micro-entrepreneurs through PIX-native credit, not generic SME banking.
  • Bruno Lucas said the model improved funding predictability and aligned with operating cycles in 2026.
  • FIDC financing from Itaú, Bradesco, Valora, and Credit Saison validates institutional credit quality.

Zippi raises R$220M in third FIDC, attracting Credit Saison and major Brazilian banks

Zippi, a Brazilian fintech providing working capital credit to micro-entrepreneurs and freelancers, has raised R$220 million in its third Investment Fund in Credit Rights (FIDC), attracting Japanese firm Credit Saison as a new institutional investor. The round also included participation from Itaú Asset, Itaú BBA Treasury, Bradesco BBI and Valora Investimentos. This marks Zippi's largest fundraising to date, following two previous FIDCs of R$66 million in 2024 and R$80 million in 2025. The company aims to reach R$350 million under management by the end of 2026, significantly expanding its credit capacity. In 2025, Zippi more than doubled in size, growing revenue, portfolio and transaction volume by over 100%. The fintech expects to process approximately R$10 billion in transactions this year whilst serving Brazil's 21 million micro and small businesses.
