Zwift update version 1.121 (165303) released. September 8, 2026 LAST UPDATED September 8, 2026 Zwift version 1.121 begins its phased rollout today. This minor update includes improvements to help Zwift Insider earn route badges with RoboPacers, plus new route badges for riders and runners. Read on for details! Route Badges with RoboPacers. Historically, earning Route Badges while riding with a RoboPacer has been a bit hit and miss. While it seems logical that you would earn the badge as long as you cross the route's start and finish line, that didn't always happen. Zwift says, "... completion badges are now awarded after teleporting to a friend or RoboPacer and completing a full route lap from the official start of the route. Please note that you must still complete a full lap from the route's official starting point to earn the badge." Interestingly, Zwift added this note: "We have an open ticket to explore awarding route completion badges after a full lap, regardless of where on the route you begin." New Route Badges for riders. Zwift has added cycling achievement badges to the following short routes: * Downtown Dolphin in Crit City (40 XP) * LaGuardia Loop in New York (60 XP) * The 6 Train Reverse in New York (130 XP) * Glasgow Reverse in Scotland (60 XP) * ZG25 Climb Champs in London (100 XP) These are all event-only routes, so you won't see the unearned badge on your Badges screen. They'll only show up once you've earned them! And yes: all of these routes are included in the currently-running Zwift Shorts Challenge, which means many of Zwift Insider recently rode them. Alas, Zwift Insider did not earn the route badges when Zwift Insider rode the routes in recent weeks. Zwift Insider'll need to ride them again! New Route Badges for runners. Zwift has added seven new route badges for runners, continuing the trend they started in the v1.119 release. Once you've installed version 1.121, the following routes will have achievement badges and XP available for runners: * Jungle Circuit in Watopia (310 XP) * Jungle Circuit Reverse in Watopia (310 XP) * Whole Lotta Lava in Watopia (490 XP) * Hilltop Hustle in Watopia (550 XP) * Going Coastal in Watopia (660 XP) * Road to Sky in Watopia (690 XP) * Seaside Sprint in Watopia (250 XP) Newly opened routes. "We Ride Paris" Challenge launched on Zwift in partnership with Paris Saint-Germain. August 21, 2026 LAST UPDATED August 20, 2026 This week, Zwift rolled out the Zwift Insider Ride Paris "connected cycling challenge" as part of a unique initiative spearheaded by the Paris Saint-Germain football club. Powered by the support of pro cycling team Groupama-FDJ UNITED plus WHOOP, Zwift, and Wilier, We Ride Paris aims to "bring as many people as possible together around a fun, sporting and collective challenge." Completing the challenge. Completing the challenge is quite simple - all you have to do is ride at least 16.4 kilometers, either on Zwift or out on the road. This needs to be done between August 18, 2026 at 9am PDT and September 13, 2026 at 23:59 PDT. While you can technically get entered into the prize giveaways managed by PSG (see below) by riding any 16.4km+ session on Zwift or outside, Zwifters will probably want to click and free ride the Crêpe Escape route via the Zwift Insider Ride Paris card on their home screens, or take part in one of the special Zwift Insider Ride Paris events (see below), since doing so unlocks the special Zwift Insider Ride Paris kit and socks, and triggers an automatic email with more info on entering the prize giveaway. Special events. A number of events are taking place as part of this initiative - some on Zwift, and some IRL. Virtual group rides will be held on Crêpe Escape with professional Groupama-FDJ UNITED riders (see upcoming events at zwift.com/events/tag/werideparis, or click the banner below). An IRL finale will be held at the Parc des Princes and an auction of exclusive bikes, with proceeds donated to the Paris Saint-Germain Endowment Fund - PSG For Communities and the Xana Foundation. All about the new Giant Propel Advanced SL Team frame on Zwift. June 25, 2026 LAST UPDATED June 25, 2026 Zwift's latest release includes an update to the Propel, Giant's flagship aero racing bike. The new bike, named the "Propel Advanced SL Team", is the latest 2026 version. It effectively replaces the Propel Advanced SL Disc in Zwift's Drop Shop, which was based on Giant's 2018 model. The Zwift colorway matches the IRL frameset available from Giant: On Zwift, you'll need to be updated to game version 1.116+ to see this bike in the Drop Shop. You'll also need to be at level 40+ with 1,700,000 Drops to buy it. Here's how it's described in the Drop Shop: From breakaways to the final sprint. On flat roads, climbs or descents. The reengineered Propel Advanced SL cuts through wind and maximizes watts, optimizing your energy through every dimension of speed. It's a bike with pro pedigree and undeniable aerodynamic data, but the all-new Propel isn't built only for the wind tunnel or the Tour de France. It's engineered to deliver ultimate speed for all riders. It's rated 3 stars for aero and 4 stars for weight, like other top all-arounders on Zwift. But that's actually a sizeable group of bikes at this point. So how does it actually perform? Since Zwift's 4-star system isn't the most granular performance metric, Zwift Insider ran this frame through its precise tests to measure performance in nerd-level detail. Let's dive in! Note: test results below are from a 75kg, 183cm rider holding 300W steady using Zwift's stock 32mm Carbon wheelset on the un-upgraded version of the frame, unless otherwise noted. Test results have an error margin of approximately 1 second. Aero (flat/rolling) performance. The new Propel is a solid performer on the flats, reflecting its IRL aero performance. It puts ~5 seconds into the older Propel across an hour of flat riding. The frame's time puts it 61.7 seconds ahead of its baseline frame across an hour of riding. That's just behind the handful of leading aero frames in Zwift, which are led by the new Cervelo S5 at 63.5 seconds. Climb performance. The latest Propel Advanced SL is lighter than previous versions, and this shows in how much its climb time improved over the previous Propel, trimming ~18 seconds off across an hour of climbing. The frame's climb test time puts it 43.5 seconds ahead of the baseline frame after an hour, which is ~14 seconds behind the Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8. Upgrading your Giant Propel Advanced SL Team frame on Zwift. Like all frames in Zwift, the Propel Advanced SL Team can be upgraded in five stages. The new Propel Advanced SL from Giant is a strong all-arounder, and the best-performing bike Giant has had in game thus far. That's notable in itself. It holds its own in terms of aero performance, and while it loses a bit to the category-leading Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 and Cannondale SuperSix EVO LAB71 Team superbikes on the climbs, it's in the second group just behind along with the Canyon Aeroad 2024 and Wilier Filante SLR ID2. (The Pinarello Dogma F 2024 is somewhere between those two groups.) It's a strong improvement over the previous generation of the Propel Advanced SL, so if you're a fan of Giant, this is the bike you'll want to race on Zwift.
