Chamelio

AI-driven contract management for in-house legal teams

Overview

Chamelio provides a subscription-based legal tech platform that helps in-house legal teams work faster and smarter. It uses artificial intelligence to streamline contract negotiation and automatic reviews, cutting down manual review time while keeping accuracy high. The system centralizes scattered legal knowledge into a single source of truth, and it learns from user preferences to tailor the contract review process, with quick onboarding and seamless integration. Compared to others, it shifts the balance from viewing legal work as a cost center to a value creator by accelerating workflows and enabling teams to act strategically. The goal is to empower in-house lawyers to become strategic partners within their organizations and to grow as a key player in the evolving legal services landscape, backed by venture funding.

Chamelio raises $26M Series A to replace legacy CLM with ai-native in-house legal operations.

Chamelio raises $26M Series A to replace legacy CLM with ai-native in-house legal operations. 22 Sep, 2026, 16:00 IDT Powered by agentic AI, Chamelio's platform is primed to replace outdated legacy contract lifecycle management systems and empower legal teams to embrace AI-powered operations. Since its seed round five months ago, Chamelio's ARR has grown 4x NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Chamelio, the AI-native platform for in-house legal teams, today announced a $26 million Series A round led by Entrée Capital, with participation from existing investors Work-Bench and Emerge Ventures. Bright Pixel Capital also participated. Chamelio boasts hundreds of customers, including Wiz, monday.com, Socure, AppsFlyer, and Wonderful.ai. The company will use the new funding to further develop its proprietary legal action model, grow its legal engineering and product teams and invest further in onboarding technology. In-house legal departments are overworked and understaffed, with workload demands surging, while budgets and headcount are not keeping pace. An Association of Corporate Counsel survey from this year found that budget and resource constraints were a key barrier to success. Meanwhile, only 32% of legal departments expect to add attorney headcount this year, according to CLOC's 2026 State of the Industry Report. Most in-house legal teams are still relying on legacy Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software built to store contracts, not analyze or act on them, with the painstaking additional work falling on the same number of overburdened teams. The legal sector has adopted AI faster than almost any other profession. Deloitte predicts in three years, 30% of a legal team will be AI agents, and one in five will be hybrid lawyer-engineers. This role bridges the gap between technology and legal expertise. Chamelio enables the legal teams of today to delegate the tedious manual labor of contract review to autonomous agents, laying the groundwork for a completely different in-house composition of the future, consisting of both lawyers and AI agents. Chamelio is an AI-native legal platform for in-house teams that manages and executes the full contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to approvals, obligations, and ongoing legal workflows. Unlike traditional contract management systems built primarily to store documents and manage processes, Chamelio is trained on legal actions and can perform the work itself. It drafts from a company's own contracts, reviews and negotiates terms, routes requests, manages obligations, and executes multistep legal workflows. Customers can deploy it autonomously for routine, low-risk work or keep a lawyer in the loop where oversight is needed. By handling routine tasks and decisions independently and escalating only the edge cases that require human judgment, Chamelio shifts the in-house lawyer's role from labor-intensive execution to strategic oversight and judgment. Chamelio also allows legal teams to easily build their own agents which support and interact with multiple functions across the organization, from procurement to finance, product to people, compliance to sales, helping scale and amplify legal capabilities for enterprise in the AI era. "The mistake in legal AI has been assuming the future simply looks like today's lawyer with faster contractual fact-checking," said Alex Zilberman, CEO and co-founder of Chamelio. "AI in a legal setting shows dividends when it can make decisions intuitively, built on the corporate intelligence of each individual business. This is what Chamelio does. We ensure in-house legal departments deliver watertight contracts and outputs at AI speed, validated by the rigor of lawyers." "Chamelio is building the AI-native operating system for in-house legal teams - becoming the system of record, system of action, and system of intelligence for the modern legal function," said Eran Bielski, General Partner at Entrée Capital. "What stood out to us was not only the strength of the product, but how quickly Chamelio's founders execute, learn from customer feedback, and turn that feedback into a product with category-defining potential." Chamelio's platform integrates with CRMs like Salesforce, as well as other tools such as Slack, NetSuite and procurement systems. Every deployment from Chamelio's platform contains access to dedicated legal engineering expertise that helps customers migrate from legacy systems, structure their repositories, translate existing processes into workflows and get AI into production quickly. Zilberman added: "Chamelio is empowering the next era of legal operations, one which includes vital human legal judgment, backed by legal engineers who turn that knowledge into systems and AI agents. With our platform underpinning every facet of in-house contract execution, we are redefining how in-house legal activities are carried out." About Chamelio Founded in 2024 by serial entrepreneurs and two-time founders, Alex Zilberman and Gal Lellouche, alongside former general counsel, Gil Banyas, Chamelio is the AI system of action for in-house legal teams. Its platform combines contract negotiation, legal intake, workflows, contract intelligence and knowledge in one platform. Its software, AI-powered migration technology and legal engineering model helps corporate legal departments move from legacy systems to AI that does the work. Media Contact SOURCE Chamelio

Chamelio launches 'always on' AI Agent Hub.

Chamelio launches 'always on' AI Agent Hub. Legal intelligence platform, Chamelio, has launched Agent Hub, which lets inhouse lawyers use a suite of 'always-on AI agents' that can work independently, monitor what is happening inside the business, and act when needed. The approach means that lawyers don't need to always manually 'log in, open a matter, run a workflow, or ask an AI a question' for an agent to roll into action. They are set to run whenever they are needed, with their activities controlled through a central hub, hence the 'Agent Hub'. As they explained: 'Legal teams can now create agents with ongoing responsibilities, much like you would assign work to a member of your team.' Chamelio added that this means inhouse lawyers can expand what they are able to do, but without having to hire more staff. The company provided several examples of instructions an always-on agent could be set up to follow: * Tell me if a contract has been waiting for signature for more than five days. * Every week, tell me how many agreements were signed, what is still outstanding, and where something appears stuck. * Watch for this customer hitting its contractual milestone. When it happens, prepare the amendment and send it to me for approval. * Monitor this regulation and tell me when something changes that affects its obligations. * Make sure every agreement coming up for renewal is reviewed 60 days in advance. Once organised, the agents will go and do what they are told to do - and as noted: without someone having to trigger each and every action. Moreover, they noted that you can get the agents to do things such as 'observe information across Chamelio and connected systems, reason about what it means, create documents, initiate workflows, request approvals, update data, notify the right people, and determine the next step based on instructions defined by the legal team'. In short, this goes a very long way beyond the early days of legal AI where lawyers made a prompt, got back an answer, and resumed their work without any other assistance from the AI tools on their desktop. Alex Zilberman, CEO and co-founder of Chamelio, commented: 'Legal technology has spent decades giving legal teams better tools. Artificial Lawyer think the next step is giving them actual capacity. 'Agent Hub changes the relationship between legal teams and their software. Instead of logging into a system to do the work, you can delegate a responsibility and expect the system to keep it moving. That's a fundamentally different model for how a legal department can operate.' And picking up on the point about staffing and inhouse workloads, he added: 'The real promise of AI isn't helping lawyers do the same work a little faster. It's taking work off their plate entirely.' Also don't miss the upcoming Chamelio and AL Webinar - On Wednesday, September 16, 4 PM BST, 11 AM ET, 8 AM PT, Chamelio and Artificial Lawyer will be holding a live webinar to explore the increasingly important topic: 'Why is the Legal AI ROI Conversation Still Broken?' And where Artificial Lawyer will also come up with some answers to solve this challenge! Speakers include: Every legal team can tell you what they spent on their tech stack. Almost none can tell you what it actually bought them. That's not for lack of trying. Legal leaders have spent years bolting together dashboards, contract counts, and 'time saved; estimates to prove the function is more than a cost center. But most of these metrics were never built to measure impact - they were built to justify a purchase. Counting signed contracts or logged hours tells you activity happened. It doesn't tell you whether legal moved the business forward, reduced risk, or got out of anyone's way. This session digs into why that gap exists and why it's gotten more urgent as legal teams adopt AI. When the tools change but the measurement stays the same, leaders end up defending spend with numbers that don't hold up in a budget conversation, and legal keeps getting treated like overhead instead of a function that drives outcomes. Artificial Lawyer'll break down: * Why traditional legal ops metrics (contract volume, turnaround time, tool logins) measure motion, not value * What 'impact' actually looks like when legal is proactive instead of reactive, fewer bottlenecks, faster deal velocity, risk caught before it's expensive * How to build a data narrative that connects legal's work to business outcomes leadership already cares about * What changes about ROI measurement once AI is doing part of the work and how to avoid just automating the same broken metrics See you at Legal Innovators New York - Nov 17 and 18 - join Artificial Lawyer at the intersection of legal AI and the business of law in New York for the most important legal innovation event of the year! Enterprise Weekly #546: Fastest Growing Github Repo, The Importance of Community, and More

Enterprise weekly #546: fastest growing Github repo, the importance of community, and more. Work-Bench is a NYC-based $160M enterprise software Seed stage VC fund. If you are or know anyone thinking about founding an enterprise software, SaaS, or infrastructure software startup - we'd love to meet! Please reach out to chat. Platform shifts in technology enables growth that has just one word to describe it: vertical. This graph above shows the rise of OpenClaw (previously known as Clawd). It's become the fastest-ever growing repository on Github, representative of what's possible in today's AI era. Peter Steinberger, the founder, made 6,600 code commits in the month of January alone. But what's more fascinating is not just OpenClaw's incredible growth, but how it was built to make this possible: * Peter always uses between 5-10 agents in parallel. * He doesn't read all of the code he ships, reflective of his belief that a lot of code is plumbing. * He outsources the line-by-line code understanding to Codex and assumes the role of the architect of the code. While time will tell which habits persist, one thing is for certain: the broader theme of "agent-nativity" is diffusing across the enterprise ecosystem, and adapting to it is a must for continued survival. It's one thing we're talking to our portfolio about and encourage everyone in the ecosystem to think about: as the capability frontier gets pushed out every 2 months, how are your organization's habits evolving with it? How would you change your roadmap if the models were all of a sudden an order of magnitude better? While it's impossible to predict the future of the labs, that ambitious thinking may not need to wait as long as you'd think. Speaking of our portfolio, we had an incredible week of announcements: Spring Health announced their acquisition of Alma, who has done remarkable work in building provider-centric infrastructure that enables clinicians to serve patients with less administrative friction. Spring's vision since inception has been to democratize access to mental health, and joining forces with Alma is a huge step in that direction. Chamelio also announced their $10M fundraise, including a $5.7M seed led by Work-Bench. Chamelio is building an AI context layer for in-house legal teams with a platform that transforms contracts, policies, and negotiation history into a living intelligence layer to power end-to-end legal workflows. Their market pull is some of the best we've seen in legal tech, and we're incredibly excited for what's ahead. Lastly, on Wednesday we hosted ~40 of our founders for a dinner in NYC. It was a terrific way to kick off the year, and once again reminded us of the power of community. When you bring a number of like-minded people who are at different stages of a structurally similar journey and are able to connect over a shared feeling, magic happens. From Engineer to Founder: Building and Selling Developer Tools with Extend & Authzed (Feb 11th): Work-Bench is hosting an intimate fireside chat with Kushal Byatnal, Co-Founder & CEO of Extend, and Jake Moshenko, Co-Founder & CEO of Authzed, for a candid conversation on building and scaling enterprise software. We'll go deep on Extend & Authzed's founding stories, Kushal and Jake's transitions from engineer to founder, and the lessons learned along the way from finding product-market fit and cracking go-to-market, to fundraising and building with AI inside a complex enterprise landscape. It's a small, curated gathering designed for thoughtful conversation and high-signal connections with NYC founders and operators. Sign up here.
