Requirements
  • A high school graduation or an associate’s degree, two-year college, or technical school with equivalent work experience is required.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in warehouse or yard operations, including at least two years of operations leadership experience, is required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook Email, Excel, Word, and experience with an enterprise resource planning system, are required.
  • The role requires the ability to sit, climb, stand, lift, and/or move, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Guide branch associates and leaders, build effective teams, and serve as a resource and role model.
  • Provide leadership, support, tools, and resources to help associates perform effectively.
  • Identify improvement areas and coach, mentor, and train associates to become proficient in their roles.
  • Champion the branch safety program.
  • Lead technological advancements and continuous improvement projects.
  • Hire, onboard, train, coach, mentor, and, when needed, take disciplinary action for operational roles.
  • Act as Manager on Duty when the Branch Manager is absent.
  • Directly manage an operations team responsible for receiving, shipping, inventory management, fabrication, and customer service levels.
  • Ensure the branch provides an elevated level of customer service using The Master Halco Way.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and efficient facilities and equipment that meet company standards.
  • Act as the regional safety leader and ensure safety standards and goals are met.
  • Ensure proper standard operating procedures and company policies are followed.
  • Identify and execute cost optimization and reduction strategies involving overtime, trucking, material-handling efficiency, process flow, and related areas.
  • Identify, create, and implement continuous improvement projects as needed.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Champion technological enhancements such as radio-frequency identification inventory management.
  • Perform hands-on operations tasks as needed.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the Branch Manager.
