Requirements
  • A degree in Architecture and 15 years of full-time paid professional experience, including 10 years as a Construction Administrator and five years as a Designer; Construction Administrator experience must be on a public or educational facility construction project with full responsibility, and projects must have a construction value of at least $8 million individually or $80 million cumulatively.
  • Alternatively, 15 years of full-time paid professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager on public or educational facility construction and/or large commercial projects, with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects valued above $30 million individually and $400 million cumulatively.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of two years of college-level coursework from a recognized college, university, or trade school, with five additional years of experience substituted for the educational requirement.
  • Proficiency in writing RFCs, reviewing submittals, and reviewing change orders.
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Provide proof of Southern California residency to be considered.
  • Provide an updated resume, certifications or licenses obtained, three to four professional references, and a project list with values, dates, and company names.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during preconstruction.
  • Assist in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document scope of work and schedule, including interim housing requirements.
  • Make value engineering recommendations at the outset of design.
  • Review design professional deliverables and identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions in progress plans to reduce RFIs and change orders.
  • Ensure documents are coordinated between design disciplines.
  • Prepare a comprehensive constructability review of pre-bid construction documents.
  • Coordinate the above efforts collaboratively with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
