Requirements
  • One to three years of experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of merchandising or other relevant business-related subjects, or equivalent experience.
  • A foundational understanding of mathematics and business acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop relationships.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to ambiguity.
  • Ability to set priorities, use time effectively, and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Availability during core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
  • Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to perform occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing, with frequent sitting, walking, and standing.
  • Ability to use office machinery through frequent eye, hand, and finger coordination.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain stock-keeping units.
  • Set up vendors.
  • Manage markdowns, markups, and voyage pricing.
  • Perform heavy data entry.
  • Identify stock-keeping units for ships.
  • Update and maintain the commissions database.
  • Create shipboard communications through the internal shipboard communication system.
  • Communicate with vendors to receive data needed for system inputs.
  • Send monthly sales reports to vendor partners and prepare reports for internal business reviews.
  • Manage and respond to requests from distribution center and Customer Service teams.
  • Manage and respond to merchandising requests received from ships.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly department team meetings, prepared to discuss timeline management, issues concerning shipboard or Customer Service requests, and merchandising project updates.
  • Assist with other merchandising team projects and category-specific tasks as needed.
  • Build positive working relationships within the organization.
  • Acquire knowledge from internal departments to understand organizational processes and key business partners.
  • Use interpersonal relationships to accomplish day-to-day needs.
  • Travel periodically to local ships, for less than 10% of working time.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends as job duties require.
