Requirements
  • At least 5 or more years of related work experience.
  • Operational management knowledge of medical/dental offices.
  • Equivalent to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge of dental plans, fees, general plan design, administrative guidelines, limitations and exclusions, reporting systems, business correspondence and business reporting techniques, and business principles of profit and loss statements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and QSI software applications, and use of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment without compromising quality of work.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, or other members of the business community.
  • Ability to draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment in making decisions, make decisions under pressure, and interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility for assigned tasks, ability to work with others and accept direction, and flexibility in adapting processes to meet unique needs.
  • Ability to lead a team, prioritize duties, coach, mentor, train, write effective performance evaluations, conduct feedback, and handle employee relations issues.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the launch of the Pediatric Dental model and programs in the assigned office by implementing best operational practices.
  • Maintain a productive and organized office schedule so that the Pediatric Dentist has a profitable and smooth-running office.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in driving year-over-year revenue and profit growth by managing expenses to the monthly budget, managing profit and loss, implementing and ensuring adherence to cash management and accounting protocols, and managing other financial drivers of the location.
  • Perform People Services functions, including determining and maintaining efficient staffing levels, interviewing and selecting employees, conducting performance appraisals, developing talent, taking disciplinary actions, and administering salaries.
  • Provide feedback and implement strategies regarding tactics that change financial and patient outcomes so the rest of the organization can benefit.
  • Create an environment that promotes PDS Patient for Life and Pediatrics culture and values daily.
  • Ensure the Pediatric Dentist's first and subsequent visits run smoothly by checking that supplies, forms, schedules, and dental assistants are in order.
  • Actively engage in creating best practices for Pediatric office management and help implement and execute the system in place.
  • Be accountable for procedures and insurance benefits and analyze opportunities in PRISM for Pediatric offices.
  • Assist in assessing, investigating, and resolving staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and circumstances to develop timely, effective, logical, and creative solutions.
  • Assist in implementing, coordinating, and managing marketing programs to grow the business.
  • Assist in developing and implementing precise, realistic, and measurable individual and office goals that are challenging and compatible with company policy.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead daily huddles and meetings as required.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to criteria for facility cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or technical school.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, such as prior coursework or on-the-job training in dentistry, business, or training.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and QSI software applications.
  • Experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates.
