Future makes DEXA body composition scans an integral part of membership, naming BodySpec its preferred scan partner across 15 metros.

Future makes DEXA body composition scans an integral part of membership, naming BodySpec its preferred scan partner across 15 metros. Oct 13, 2026, 06:02 ET LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Today, Future, the human-led health coaching company, announced a formal partnership with BodySpec, the country's leading provider of medical-grade DEXA body composition scans. The newly formed collaboration between the two companies will provide BodySpec customers a more actionable approach to health management while giving Future members a better way to understand their bodies, adjust their health plans, and measure progress. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, or DEXA, body composition scans provide a detailed look at a member's body fat, visceral fat, lean muscle mass, and bone density. These scans, along with Future's bloodwork, sleep tracking and mobility assessment offerings, now give members and their coaches more objective data to integrate into their health plan, making it easier to build and track progress over time. "A DEXA scan is much more valuable when it's part of an ongoing coaching relationship," said Ali Jafari, CEO of Future. "Our coaches help members understand their results, build a plan around them, and track their progress over time, giving members a reason to get a subsequent scan through Bodyspec to see what's changed." Early data from the beta suggests that members who complete a DEXA scan are more engaged with their coach and their health plan. Among 185 members with at least 30 days in the program, those who completed a DEXA scan averaged 5.8 workouts per week compared with 3.7 for members who did not complete a scan. They also exchanged an average of 6.7 messages per week with their coach, compared with 4.7. BodySpec, the leading provider of accessible, medical-grade DEXA scans for body composition, will serve as Future's preferred partner across 15 metropolitan markets, including Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego, Seattle, and more. Future Core members receive one DEXA scan annually, while Premium members receive quarterly scans, with additional scans available for purchase directly through the Future app. "We scan more than a thousand people each day across the U.S. to help them get a clear and accurate picture of their body composition - a key indicator of overall health and longevity," said Elaine Shi, co-founder and CEO of BodySpec. "Now, in our work together with Future, members will have a new way to incorporate their DEXA results into a continuous health plan, measure their progress over time, and make better, real-time decisions about their health." Starting today, Future Core members will receive one DEXA scan annually, while Premium members receive quarterly scans, with additional scans available for purchase directly through the Future app. About Future Future is a health and fitness company built around personalized, one-on-one coaching. Every member is paired with a dedicated coach who learns their goals, health history, training experience, preferences, and schedule, then builds an individualized plan and adjusts it as circumstances change. Future is co-chaired by Tom Brady and has served more than 100,000 members since launching in 2019. Future Health is available now at https://future.co/health-coach/progress. About BodySpec BodySpec is making preventative, clinical-grade body composition scans accessible to Americans nationwide. Trusted by over 350,000 clients, BodySpec operates affordable, full-body DEXA in storefront locations and mobile vans in more than 15 markets across the U.S., with several additions planned by early 2027. BodySpec opens Oakland clinic offering $60 DEXA scans to track muscle loss from GLP-1 medications

BodySpec has opened a new location in downtown Oakland, California, offering medical-grade DEXA scans for body composition analysis. The scans measure body fat, visceral fat, lean muscle mass, and bone density in 12 minutes for under $60. The expansion comes as 1 in 8 Americans use GLP-1 weight-loss medications, with studies showing 25-40% of weight lost can be lean muscle rather than fat. BodySpec emphasises the importance of tracking muscle mass and bone density, particularly for women over 50, where 1 in 2 will experience osteoporosis-related fractures. The service includes a digital dashboard and AI agent to interpret results. BodySpec has served over 350,000 clients across more than 15 US markets, with additional locations planned for early 2027.

The leading provider of accessible body composition scans, bodyspec, opens latest storefront in Oakland, California. The Company Provides Bay Area Residents Critical Tracking for Muscle Mass, Visceral Fat, Bone Density and More Amid the Rise in Weight-Loss Medications Culver City, CA / Sep 30, 2026 / BodySpec BodySpec, a leading provider of medical-grade dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans for body composition, has officially opened its newest location in downtown Oakland, California. The new storefront brings highly accessible health monitoring to the East Bay and comes at a critical time for public health, as the surging popularity of GLP-1 weight-loss medications highlights the urgent need for precise body composition and muscle mass monitoring. "Muscle mass is one of the most critical indicators of longevity," said Dr. Vivek Chander, MD, 25-year emergency medicine physician and Lead Clinical Advisor of BodySpec. "Yet for decades, DEXA scans have been locked away behind clinical walls. By the time most people get access to routine scans covered by insurance, significant muscle and bone density loss have already occurred, making BodySpec an essential addition to Oakland's community." In just 12 minutes, a BodySpec DEXA scan delivers the industry's most accurate measurement of body fat, visceral fat, lean muscle mass, and bone density - an essential health metric for women navigating perimenopause. 1 in 2 women over the age of 50 will experience a broken bone due to osteoporosis, and BodySpec's scans will offer local women the opportunity to proactively address any concerns and implement lifestyle changes before fractures or an official osteoporosis diagnosis occurs. "A standard bathroom scale can only tell you that the number went down - it doesn't tell you what you lost," said Elaine Shi, CEO and Co-Founder of BodySpec. "As more Americans prioritize longevity, understanding their body composition is essential for their long-term health. We are committed to bringing our affordable, clinical-grade body scanning to Oakland to help Bay area residents proactively build strength, protect their future, and optimize their lifespan." BodySpec offers these scans for less than $60 per scan, which includes a comprehensive digital dashboard and access to a conversational AI agent that can explain the results and provide actionable, personalized next steps based on their specific health goals. Hone Health integrates BodySpec DEXA scans into longevity platform for early metabolic insights

Hone Health, a personalized longevity care clinic, has partnered with BodySpec to integrate clinical-grade DEXA body composition scans into its platform. The integration allows patients to access detailed body composition data, including fat distribution, muscle mass, bone density and resting metabolic rate, directly within Hone's system. The partnership enables earlier intervention than traditional DEXA screening, which typically begins after age 65. BodySpec, which has completed over 600,000 scans nationwide, offers 15-minute full-body scans through clinics and mobile units. Results sync automatically into Hone's platform, where physicians review findings and incorporate them into personalized treatment plans. The collaboration follows Hone's recent partnership with Prenvuo for whole-body MRI screening, strengthening its AI-enabled diagnostic ecosystem for physician-guided longevity care.
