Qvest promotes Katlyn Alexander to CEO, North America. Published 3 hours ago U.S. chief operating officer elevated as part of a leadership transition Global media technology provider Qvest has elevated Katlyn Alexander to CEO for North America. Alexander, who had been chief operating officer of Qvest in the U.S., succeeds the Qvest U.S. founding partners as part of a yearlong leadership transition. She will be tasked with overseeing strategic direction, operational performance and market expansion across North America, with a focus on supporting customers in media and entertainment and other sectors in transitioning toward digitalization, cloud and AI, the company said. "Katlyn is an integral part of Qvest and has played a key role in shaping our business in the U.S. market," Qvest Group Global CEO Thorsten Sauer said. "Her operational depth ensures continuity and sustained business momentum, while her deep understanding of our clients and our business ideally positions her to lead the organization into its next phase of growth." Alexander's promotion is part of a planned transition at Qvest's North America operations in which its founding partners are gradually handing their responsibilities over to a younger generation of executives. She joined Qvest in 2014 and has held several leadership posts. "We are thrilled to enter this next chapter of leadership under Katlyn," Qvest U.S. Founding Partner Frank Leal said. "She has been with the organization for over 12 years and has our culture and drive for putting clients first in her DNA." In addition to North America, Germany-based Qvest operates locations in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia. Qvest unveils V-Cropper Blueprint powered by NVIDIA. 11/09/2026 Qvest will present the V-Cropper Blueprint powered by NVIDIA for the first time at IBC2026. Developed by Qvest using NVIDIA AI and deployment technologies, the application automatically crops horizontal video into different aspect ratios, including vertical formats optimised for mobile and social media. It enables media organisations to accelerate content creation while maintaining control over their content and AI infrastructure. Turning horizontal sports and live content into vertical formats for social media currently requires significant manual editing. The V-Cropper Blueprint from Qvest automates this process by tracking relevant subjects and sports scenes in motion - such as athletes, players and balls - and keeping the action in frame, helping media teams create mobile content faster. "For media organisations, the value of AI is not the model itself, but what it enables within real production workflows," said Fares Birke, Principal - Practice Lead Applied AI at Qvest. "Especially in sports, speed matters. Monetising the moment means turning live action into engaging content while it is still relevant. Our V-Cropper Blueprint does exactly that while giving organisations control over how and where their AI workflows operate." Developed by Qvest's Applied AI and R&D Accelerator Team, the V-Cropper Blueprint can run locally or in cloud environments, enabling media organisations to process content without relying on external multi-tenant AI services. "Live moments evolve by the second, yet adapting horizontal video for mobile audiences remains time-consuming and manual," said Richard Kerris, Vice President and General Manager of Media and Entertainment at NVIDIA. "Built with NVIDIA AI, Qvest's V-Cropper Blueprint turns that bottleneck into an adaptable workflow, helping media teams bring sports and live content to every screen faster while retaining control of their content and infrastructure." The solution uses NVIDIA NIM microservices for optimised AI inference and NVIDIA Brev for reusable deployment configurations. Its containerised architecture supports flexible deployment, while a labelling and tuning interface allows teams to adapt tracking behaviour to different sports and content scenarios. The V-Cropper Blueprint will be made available through NVIDIA Build as an open-source foundation that media organisations can adapt to their own workflows and requirements. Visitors can experience the V-Cropper Blueprint at the Qvest booth, 10.C24, at IBC 2026. Qvest will also share insights into AI-driven business impact in a live panel discussion, Real Talk Live: AI Everywhere. Business Value Anywhere?, on Sunday, 13 September, from 11am-11:45am CEST. During the panel discussion, Stefan Kollinger, Chief Innovation Officer at ORF, Austria; Michael Kaplan, Director, AI for Media Ecosystem and Partner GTM at NVIDIA; and Alexander Günther, Managing Director at Sportcast, will share their perspectives on how media companies can move beyond isolated AI use cases and turn AI initiatives into meaningful business value. IBC 2026: Qvest to demonstrate multi-vendor Dynamic Media Facility showcase. 03/09/2026 Qvest will present a multi-vendor Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) showcase at IBC2026 (Booth 10.C24), demonstrating how the EBU's DMF architecture can be implemented through a software-defined production environment running on commodity and cloud infrastructure. Broadcasters are increasingly looking beyond architectural concepts and asking what already works in practice, says Daniel Clasen, Practice Lead Custom Software Solutions, Qvest. With the DMF Showcase, we are demonstrating how open, software-defined production can be implemented today. Together with our partners, we are turning the Dynamic Media Facility from a reference architecture into a practical reference implementation and providing a blueprint for the future of media production. One of the biggest opportunities in software-defined production is to use resources more efficiently, says Patrick Steinert, Head of Technology Consulting, Qvest. Production environments are often underutilized because infrastructure is dedicated to individual workflows. Our DMF Showcase demonstrates how shared, software-defined resources can be used more efficiently across a variety of production scenarios and provide a practical path toward more flexible and efficient operations. It also reflects an important milestone: we have created a functional DMF implementation, which will soon be deployed in customer environments. The showcase brings together the following partners and their contributions: Intel - Intel Xeon processor-based servers with E800 series NICs for ST 2110 and RDMA as the compute foundation; Matrox Video - ORIGIN asynchronous media framework with Kubernetes-native scheduling; NETGEAR - M4350-40X4C 40-port 10G switch with 100G uplinks for ST 2110 and management traffic; Ross Video - SRT-to-MXL media function for integrating SRT contribution feeds into the MXL environment; Riedel - containerized MXL replication for multi-node media processing; Skyline Communications - DataMiner xOps for event planning, orchestration, and lifecycle management; TAG Video Systems - TAG Core software multiviewing and QC across MXL, ST 2110, compressed, and OTT signals; Telos Alliance - Minnetonka Audio UPMAX for immersive audio and ARC for loudness compliance as containerized media functions; Techex - tx darwin for standards conversion, switching, and compression with MXL integration; Telestream - Pulse platform for MXL-based ST 2110 flow integration and waveform/vectorscope monitoring; Wavelet Beam - IRIS-VIDEO GPU-accelerated live denoising alongside MXL Player, Recorder, and 10 Bit Viewer. 05/01/2027.
