Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related engineering discipline, with 5+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or process engineering role.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, establishing Quality Management Systems (QMS), quality investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management system requirements.
  • Experience using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Scottsdale, Arizona.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 13485:2016 regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in establishing a Quality Management System (QMS), supporting manufacturing quality, incoming inspection, supplier quality, and quality systems activities.
  • Working knowledge of calibration and metrology systems, equipment qualification, process validation, and statistical quality methods.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and 8D.
  • Experience with SAP, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, electronic quality management systems (eQMS), and quality reporting or analytics tools.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key quality engineering resource across manufacturing quality, incoming inspection, supplier quality, quality systems, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Define, implement, maintain, and continuously improve quality system processes, procedures, work instructions, and other related controlled documentation to support Scottsdale operations and ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
  • Support manufacturing operations by ensuring products, processes, and quality controls meet established specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain incoming, in-process, and final inspection methods, acceptance criteria, critical-to-quality characteristics, and inspection controls to ensure effective product verification.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including supplier issue investigations, corrective action follow-up, supplier performance monitoring, and quality documentation reviews.
  • Investigate, document, and support the disposition of nonconforming materials, components, processes, and finished goods while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations, containment actions, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and recurrence prevention efforts using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analyze manufacturing, inspection, supplier, calibration, and quality system data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and drive data-based improvements.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key quality performance indicators, including yield, defect trends, supplier performance, inspection effectiveness, calibration compliance, and issue closure metrics.
  • Support new product introductions, manufacturing readiness activities, process changes, equipment qualification, risk assessments, process validation, and production builds as needed.
  • Assist with calibration and metrology program activities, including equipment status management, record maintenance, out-of-tolerance investigations, and process improvements.
  • Participate as needed in internal audits, management reviews, document control activities, and other quality system processes to ensure site compliance and audit readiness.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality procedures, inspection requirements, and quality system processes to support consistent execution across the site.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Quality, Supplier Quality, Quality Systems, and site leadership to resolve quality issues, strengthen process controls, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, statistical methods, and continuous improvement tools to reduce variation, improve yield, lower the cost of poor quality, and drive operational excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Broad quality engineering experience spanning manufacturing, incoming inspection, supplier quality, and quality systems.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to improving processes, solving problems, and supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable quality processes, controls, and systems in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with a track record of driving sustainable improvements in quality, compliance, and business performance.

Siemens Healthineers has received up to $60 million from the US Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health to develop photon Flash radiotherapy, with the company contributing an additional $23 million, totalling $83 million over five years. Flash photon therapy delivers radiotherapy more than 100 times faster than current technologies, aiming to reduce side effects and improve healthy tissue sparing. Unlike proton and electron beam platforms, which face scalability challenges, photon beams are the standard of care for over 50% of cancer patients. The project will build on existing C-arm linear accelerators to enable broader clinical access. Siemens Healthineers aims to transition ultra-high dose rate radiotherapy from experimental treatment into global standard of care within the five-year timeframe.

Varian TrueBeam gets FDA clearance for low-dose radiotherapy to treat osteoarthritis

Siemens Healthineers has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Varian TrueBeam radiotherapy systems to treat medically refractory osteoarthritis in adults using low-dose radiation therapy. This marks the first expansion of Varian's radiotherapy platform beyond cancer care into chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Osteoarthritis affects over 33 million adults in the US and approximately 600 million globally. The clearance covers TrueBeam, TrueBeam STx, VitalBeam and Edge systems, offering patients with persistent pain a non-invasive outpatient treatment option that targets inflammation, reduces pain and improves joint function. The approval builds on Varian's previous regulatory clearances for non-oncological indications, including radiosurgery treatment for medically refractory essential tremor. The TrueBeam platform combines high-resolution imaging with precise dose control whilst maintaining streamlined clinical workflows.

Telix and Varian enter research collaboration. Telix Pharmaceuticals and Siemens Healthineers' company Varian have agreed to develop novel clinical applications that combine Telix's theranostics products and Varian's external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) technology. The first area of focus will be in identifying opportunities to use Telix's prostate cancer PET imaging agents in selecting patients for EBRT, developing personalized treatment plans (particularly in the context of Varian's Ethos adaptive radiotherapy system), and monitoring responses to treatment, Telix said. The agreement supports both company-sponsored and investigator-led clinical studies. Varian is a key player in EBRT and working with the company will allow Telix to explore how theranostics can be used more effectively by radiation oncologists to enhance patient selection and deliver targeted treatment, Telix noted.
