Requirements

  • Familiarity with financial crime regulations worldwide, including the Payment Services Act, BSA/USA PATRIOT Act, and international cross-border payment standards.
  • At least 15 years of experience, with an emphasis on scalable systems and automated workflows rather than manual reviews.

  • Ensure Board- and Senior Management-determined risk appetite is cascaded, implemented, and monitored group-wide across entities and payment services, cards, and emerging products.
  • Develop and implement a group-level AML/CFT control framework that establishes consistent risk appetite across entities while allowing for local legal additions.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to build a Global Compliance Stack; own global requirements for proprietary or vendor-led KYC, screening, and AI/ML-based transaction monitoring.
  • Track financial crime compliance tools and providers, and lead technical selection of vendors for quality, cost-efficiency, and global scale.
  • Conduct regular global and regional risk assessments; oversee complex investigations and the filing of Suspicious Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cross-border compliance team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in KYC/CDD/EDD workflows, rule validation, and back-testing to ensure controls remain effective as the business scales.
  • Measure time-to-market for enabling new countries on the global financial crime compliance stack.
  • Reduce manual work for regional teams through automation and high-fidelity alerting.
  • Maintain consistent global data standards for regulatory examinations.
  • Improve transaction-monitoring true-positive rates and reduce false-positive alerts.
  • Maintain regulatory audit standing and support timely licensing for expansion into new markets.
