Requirements
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency and have at least one year of experience in court reporting.
  • Must hold the National Court Reporters Association Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification or equivalent (e.g., state certification); appropriate credentials must be provided within one week upon request.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools; proficient with Adobe Acrobat; advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word; ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
  • Technical proficiency includes the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
  • Physical requirements include bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds; ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Travel may be required on an occasional basis and travel must be coordinated and approved in advance under Federal Travel Regulations.
  • All staff must be eligible for a Facility Access Authorization (employment authorization) by the U.S. Government security office.
  • Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigations.
  • Experience in court reporting with adequate and appropriate equipment to produce accurate, timely, transcribed testimony.
  • Ability to administer oaths; depositions shall be transcribed by a duly authorized notary.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe; proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Responsibilities
  • Provide Court Reporting Services to the Western States Network Consortium.
  • Support requirements for Assist program and project management in a functional area with educational and practical experience.
  • Produce accurate, timely, correctly bound and indexed transcribed testimony from witnesses.
  • Be competent, efficient, and have the experience, training, and education in Court Reporting with adequate and appropriate equipment.
  • Be punctual and present at relevant proceedings; demonstrate a professional demeanor; provide all necessary equipment and materials to perform duties and accomplish deliverables.
  • Read portions of the transcript in English during proceedings upon request; clarify inaudible statements if asked.
  • Administer oaths; ensure that transcripts are prepared and transcribed by a duly authorized notary; ensure handling of depositions.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, appropriately documented work products that comply with established criteria.
  • Meet milestones and delivery schedules; conduct oneself in high standards of ethical and business conduct.
  • Travel as required for meetings, site visits, or training, coordinating with technical point of contact and Contracting Officer.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Administrative Investigation Board processes, Equal Opportunity Hearing, Human Resources Management Merit System Protection Board (MSPB), or arbitration hearings is preferred.
  • Experience with security clearances or eligibility may be beneficial but not explicitly stated as required.
