Requirements
  • Must have carpentry experience and experience working on an industrial construction project.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, building plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements, including standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
  • Must be able to follow all safety rules, regulations, company rules, and site rules.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have 4+ years working as a carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.
  • Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions and measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
  • Must be able to work a full work schedule and additional overtime as needed.
  • Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties when not performing primary craft duties.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech and hearing.
  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses or spoggles, ear plugs, masks or respirators, high-visibility safety vests, leather gloves, and leather steel-toed work boots.
Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of required materials.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Measure, mark, and cut required wooden and metallic materials to specifications.
  • Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed concrete forms.
  • Build and construct wooden forms.
  • Work on miscellaneous construction projects, including building decks and steps, bulletin boards, and additional wooden structures.
  • Clean and maintain work areas.
  • Assist other crafts and perform additional job duties when not performing primary craft duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
  • Formal or technical education.
  • Experience working with concrete and rebar.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
