About the job

Requirements
  • Three to six years configuring and administering at least one declarative, low-code software-as-a-service platform in production, such as an electronic health record/electronic medical record system, Salesforce, Workday, or NetSuite; hands-on build experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and translating business needs into working system configuration.
  • A demonstrated record of ownership and initiative, identifying unassigned improvements and driving them to completion.
  • A learning mindset and drive to grow into broader platform ownership over time.
  • Strong change-management discipline and sound instincts for system security and role-based access.
  • Proficiency building reports and dashboards.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and self-direction, and ability to partner with non-technical staff.
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare administration, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to travel across Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the in-house subject-matter expert on the new cloud-based electronic health record system, owning its day-to-day configuration and administration.
  • During migration, embed with the implementation team, shadow the vendor's build, and prepare to own the platform independently at go-live.
  • Configure and continuously optimize electronic health record workflows, screen layouts, forms, custom fields, business rules, security roles, and reports in a controlled, compliance-safe manner.
  • Diagnose and resolve configuration issues, and proactively identify enhancements that improve clinician and staff efficiency and client experience.
  • Partner proactively with clinical, billing, quality and compliance, human resources, and operations teams to understand workflows, challenges, and goals.
  • Translate business and clinical needs into clear requirements and working system configuration.
  • Build, own, and prioritize a transparent roadmap and backlog of platform improvements, identifying opportunities independently rather than simply fulfilling assigned requests.
  • Map current-state processes and design improved future-state workflows enabled by the platform.
  • As capacity allows beyond the electronic health record system, administer Salesforce declaratively and partner with the external Salesforce consultant for code-level development.
  • Support the human resources team in leveraging and optimizing the Learning Management System.
  • Identify and scope automation opportunities and partner with the robotic process automation developer to implement them.
  • Take on additional business and clinical platforms over time as the organization centralizes system ownership.
  • Establish and follow change-control practices, including sandbox-to-production promotion, testing, documentation, and version tracking.
  • Thoroughly test configuration changes to prevent disruption to live clinical or billing workflows.
  • Maintain clear, current documentation of configurations, decisions, and standards.
  • Design and maintain role-based access and security aligned with HIPAA, HITECH, 42 CFR Part 2, Office of Mental Health, Department of Health, and Medicaid requirements.
  • Support audits, data-integrity initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
  • Partner with the managed service provider to uphold privacy, security, and data-stewardship standards.
  • Provide Tier-2 configuration support to end users and grow a network of departmental super-users.
  • Train clinical and administrative staff to use platforms effectively.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards that give leadership visibility into operations.
  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison to the electronic health record vendor and manage deliverables of platform consultants for Salesforce and robotic process automation.
  • Escalate and track vendor issues to resolution.
  • Track and report delivered value, including adoption, hours saved, and reduced outsourced configuration spend.
  • Continuously identify ways to help the organization get more value from its existing platforms.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on electronic health record/electronic medical record configuration experience on any platform, such as Netsmart, Qualifacts, Epic, or Cerner.
  • Salesforce administration experience, or clear aptitude and desire to learn Salesforce.
  • Behavioral health or healthcare experience, and familiarity with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Medicaid billing.
  • Awareness of automation and robotic process automation tools, such as UiPath, sufficient to identify and scope opportunities.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Salesforce Administrator or electronic health record vendor certifications.
