Requirements
  • 8–12 years of experience in telecommunications Business Support Systems, including at least 3–4 years in solution design or solution architecture roles.
  • Demonstrable experience designing end-to-end Business Support System solutions across at least two of product catalogue, order management, charging and billing, mediation, customer relationship management, and partner or wholesale management.
  • Hands-on exposure to Business Support System platforms such as Amdocs, Ericsson BSCS/CRM, Nokia/Netcracker, Comviva, Oracle BRM, CSG, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of TM Forum frameworks, including eTOM, SID, TAM, and Open APIs such as TMF620, TMF622, TMF632, and TMF641.
  • Solid knowledge of CDR/EDR processing, mediation pipelines, real-time and offline charging using OCS/OFCS, and revenue assurance.
  • Experience designing application programming interfaces and microservices integrations for Business Support Systems using RESTful and event-driven architectures, including Kafka and messaging.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Java, Go, or Python, sufficient to review and guide implementation.
  • Solid experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, and data modeling for Business Support System domains.
  • Familiarity with roaming, interconnect, and wholesale settlement processes.
  • Strong documentation skills for solution design documents, interface specifications, high-level designs, and low-level designs.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end Business Support System solution design for new non-terrestrial network products, services, and partner integrations, from requirements through high-level and detailed design.
  • Define solution blueprints spanning product catalogue, order management, mediation, rating, charging using OCS/OFCS, invoicing, customer relationship management, and partner or wholesale settlement.
  • Evaluate and select Business Support System platforms for fitness against Skylo’s non-terrestrial network use cases.
  • Apply TM Forum frameworks, including eTOM, SID, TAM, and Open APIs, to ensure interoperability and standards compliance.
  • Design for scalability, high availability, and high transaction volumes typical of satellite Internet of Things and consumer non-terrestrial network services.
  • Design integration architectures between Business Support System components and Operations Support Systems, Network Management Systems, enterprise resource planning systems, customer relationship management systems, payment gateways, and mobile network operator partner systems.
  • Define and govern Business Support System application programming interfaces using TM Forum Open API standards and RESTful or event-driven patterns.
  • Lead CDR/EDR mediation design and data-flow architecture to ensure accurate usage capture from Skylo’s non-terrestrial network virtualized radio access network.
  • Collaborate with platform engineering to implement microservices-based Business Support System components and event-driven integrations.
  • Define data models, entity relationships, and schema designs for billing, product, and subscriber domains.
  • Translate pricing models, bundles, and promotions into Business Support System configuration and design artifacts with product, commercial, and finance stakeholders.
  • Design interoperability between Skylo’s Business Support System and partner Operations Support System/Business Support System stacks to support mobile network operator partner onboarding.
  • Produce solution design documents, interface control documents, and gap analyses for internal review and partner sign-off.
  • Participate in pre-sales and partner discussions, providing technical authority on Business Support System scope and feasibility.
  • Contribute to Business Support System roadmap planning and architectural decision-making forums.
  • Oversee Business Support System solution delivery across design, build, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing phases.
  • Establish and enforce Business Support System design standards, patterns, and best practices across the engineering team.
  • Ensure revenue assurance controls, reconciliation processes, and compliance requirements under TRAI, FCC, and GDPR are embedded in solution design.
  • Mentor junior engineers and solution analysts and provide technical guidance on Business Support System domain challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Business Support System solution quality, performance, and operational observability.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with non-terrestrial networks, satellite, or mobile virtual network operator Business Support Systems, including how non-terrestrial services layer onto mobile network operator Business Support System stacks.
  • Knowledge of 5G core charging architecture, including CHF, PCF, and NWDAF, and its Business Support System implications.
  • Exposure to cloud-native Business Support System deployments on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Experience with usage-based or consumption billing at scale for Internet of Things or machine-to-machine services.
  • TM Forum Frameworx certification or equivalent Business Support System/Operations Support System industry certification.
  • Familiarity with 3GPP non-terrestrial network standards, Releases 17 and 18, and their commercial implications for Business Support Systems.
  • Experience with wholesale Business Support Systems, including wholesale billing, settlement, and partner management solutions for carrier-to-carrier or mobile network operator-to-mobile virtual network operator commercial models.
  • Exposure to Data Clearing House and Financial Clearing House processes, including TAP/RAP file handling, roaming data exchange, and inter-operator financial settlement.

Space42 taps Skylo for standards-based direct-to-device connectivity via Thuraya-4 satellite

Space42, a UAE-based SpaceTech company, has partnered with Skylo Technologies to deliver standards-based direct-to-device connectivity through its geostationary satellite Thuraya-4. The companies have completed technology integration and demonstrated a bi-directional, real-time voice call over Thuraya-4 requiring no modified SIM or changes to existing operator infrastructure. The partnership integrates Skylo's 3GPP-compliant non-terrestrial network platform with Thuraya-4, enabling satellite and terrestrial networks to function as a unified system. Devices authenticate through existing SIM frameworks whilst extending coverage to rural, maritime and remote regions. Commercial deployment will begin across Thuraya-4's coverage footprint, expanding Skylo's NTN presence across more than 37 countries. The companies are securing regulatory approvals and operator agreements, with deployment expected on a rolling basis.

Blues and Skylo launch first satellite, cellular, and WiFi module with no satellite subscription

Blues has launched Notecard for Skylo, an industry-first module combining satellite, cellular and WiFi connectivity without requiring satellite subscriptions. The product was unveiled at Embedded World in Nuremberg on 9 March 2026 and became available on 10 March. The module automatically switches between three networks — NTN satellite powered by Skylo, narrowband cellular and WiFi — targeting mission-critical industries like transportation, logistics and energy. Traditional satellite IoT solutions require separate hardware and monthly subscriptions; Notecard for Skylo eliminates both, offering pay-as-you-go pricing. The launch follows Blues and Skylo's earlier collaboration on Starnote for Skylo. Blues, a Boston-based device-to-cloud system provider, combines plug-and-play hardware, data routing and fleet management into a single platform for connected products.
