About the job

Requirements
  • Hold a train driver’s license with a valid supplementary certificate and have at least three years of professional experience, excluding training time.
  • Have strong command of railway operating regulations, ideally including European regulations and regulations in neighboring countries.
  • Meet the fitness requirements under the Train Driver Licensing Regulation (TfV) and have at least a secondary school qualification (Realschulabschluss).
  • Have German language proficiency of at least C1 level.
  • Have at least 100 hours of train-driving experience during the calendar year and a passenger car driving license.
  • Be willing to travel throughout Germany and work weekends, public holidays, and nights, and to take on-call duties.
  • Have experience dealing with passengers and safety-critical situations.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in communicating with employees and authorities.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct operational inspections and monitoring rides, and evaluate driving data in line with safety objectives.
  • Manage qualification records, including maintaining the operational files of employees assigned to train operations.
  • Issue and manage travel authorizations, route and local knowledge acquisition assignments, and associated supplementary certificates.
  • Conduct spot checks of schedules and shifts to verify compliance with driving and rest periods and BRW planning requirements.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations, take on EVU emergency-duty responsibilities, and act as an examiner under FlixTrain GmbH’s examination regulations.
  • Contribute to developing the safety management system and operating rules, and maintain internal Safety digital applications.
  • As part of ECM duties, verify compliance with statutory and internal ECM requirements for the safe operation of vehicles.
