  • Stay close to the code and provide technical authority through hands-on engineering involvement.
  • Set up artificial intelligence systems for effective engineering by improving context, interfaces, naming, machine-readable specifications, and knowledge bases.
  • Review code and select appropriate artificial intelligence tools, models, and workflows for refactoring, analysis, generation, and parallel work.
  • Build and evaluate artificial intelligence components using evaluation suites, golden datasets, structured outputs, and fallback paths.
  • Guide teams toward valuable product outcomes by learning users’ needs and product pain points.
  • Communicate decisions and technical reasoning through documents, post-mortems, design notes, and other written artefacts.
  • Make decisions, own outcomes, manage escalation by exception, and maintain appropriate financial controls.
  • Mentor engineers and Tech Leads in artificial intelligence fluency, tooling, prompting, and review discipline.
  • Remove unnecessary technologies and strengthen the remaining technology stack.
