Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience is required.
  • Four years of professional experience managing Student Activities programs is required.
  • Experience planning and facilitating campus-wide events, Homecoming and Welcome Week activities, leadership training, and community service activities is required.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication, analytical, critical-thinking, and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work in a high-energy, flexible team environment.
  • Experience planning large-scale campus events, advising students, and collaborating with campus and community partners is required.
  • Administrative, event-planning, and prioritization skills are required.
  • Experience with marketing and promotional efforts related to increasing student activity participation is required.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and execute events of various scales and types, including campus traditions, leadership development, and community service events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, manage budgets, secure venues, negotiate contracts, manage risk, develop curriculum and marketing, conduct assessments, and oversee smooth event operations.
  • Directly supervise approximately five Student Consultants and an additional group of 25 to 75 student volunteers who plan and facilitate campus events.
  • Create, maintain, and promote a programming and activities calendar, with special attention to student organization engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders through co-curricular partnerships that produce cross-divisional and cross-institutional student learning outcomes.
  • Conduct marketing and promotional efforts, including presentations, to promote and encourage student engagement.
  • Conduct assessments and implement best practices for event planning, membership development, leadership curriculum, service opportunities, recruitment, budget development, and program effectiveness.
  • Handle email communications, phone calls, and other inquiries related to student activities, events, leadership development, and community service opportunities.
  • Work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Complete required System, University, and job-specific online training courses on time and maintain full compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in higher education, student affairs, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Five years of related experience managing Student Activities programs and contributing to significant student engagement initiatives is preferred.
  • Experience advising and supervising student staff and providing professional development is preferred.
  • Experience using assessments to make data-informed decisions is preferred.
  • Ability to develop collaborative partnerships with campus and community stakeholders is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Student Activities programs, student organizations, and campus engagement is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of student development theory, student personnel administration, and retention is preferred.
  • Experience creating and facilitating broad engagement, socialization, and student development through dynamic on- and off-campus events for varied student populations is preferred.
  • Experience managing programming budgets, goals, processes, and assessments for campus programs, leadership, and service events is preferred.
