Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field is required.
  • ARRT (R.T.(R)) registration or registry eligibility is required.
  • An active Illinois Emergency Management Agency license is required.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • One to three years of experience as an X-Ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist is required.
  • Availability for rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
  • Knowledge of radiology safety protocols is required.
  • Understanding of pediatric anatomy and positioning techniques is required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume urgent care setting is required.
  • Communication skills with children and families are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform pediatric diagnostic X-rays in accordance with ARRT and Illinois Emergency Management Agency standards.
  • Prepare and position pediatric patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Ensure radiation safety for patients, parents, and staff.
  • Select and adjust technical imaging factors.
  • Review radiographic images for clarity and quality.
  • Maintain compliance with Illinois Emergency Management Agency regulations.
  • Conduct quality control checks on radiology equipment.
  • Maintain infection control standards.
  • Triage patients, obtain medical histories, and record vital signs.
  • Perform EKGs, rapid strep tests, rapid flu tests, and other point-of-care testing.
  • Assist with clinical workflow and patient communication.
  • Maintain and clean radiographic equipment.
