- A valid X-ray license is highly preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials is required.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach are required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy are required.
- Prepare treatment rooms by keeping them clean, organized, and equipped with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments according to infection control guidelines.
- Set up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X-ray machines, and surgical lights.
- Prepare patients for oral surgery, explain procedures, and address their concerns.
- Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures by anticipating their needs and providing instruments and materials.
- Maintain a sterile environment during surgery and follow infection control protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort during surgery.
- Handle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide post-operative care instructions, including oral hygiene practices, medication administration, and dietary restrictions.
- Answer patients' questions and concerns and provide reassurance throughout their treatment.
- Educate patients about oral health, prevention methods, and regular dental visits.
- Maintain accurate patient records documenting treatment plans, procedures, and progress.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and handle billing and insurance documentation.
- Assist with inventory management, order dental supplies, and maintain equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in oral surgery, is highly desirable.
- Discharge experience is highly preferred.
