Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) from an accredited education institution
  • Live within a 60-minute commute from their designated work location
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record to drive Company and personal vehicles for picking up materials, to get around large facilities in minimum time, and to travel to locations away from headquarter point
  • Willingness to work 8- and 12-hour rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends as required; subject to call-out and occasional overtime
  • Strong work ethic, safety-first mindset, and a commitment to excellence
  • Ability to complete Colonial’s NexOp Program and operator qualifications
  • At facilities with multiple operating consoles, ability to be qualified on two or more consoles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Skill Set I, II, and III of the NexOp Program; successful completion of Skill Set IV

  • Physical ability to sit, stand, reach, pull, push, and bend; ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted; ability to work in non-permit required confined spaces; ability to traverse uneven terrain; ability to climb stairs, vertical ladders up to 10 ft and tank steps as high as 60 ft; must be able to work indoors and outdoors at all hours in all weather conditions near refined petroleum products and heavy equipment
  • Must live within 60 minutes from designated work location and notify management of any changes to home address while in this role
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) covered job and subject to testing for drugs and alcohol under 49 CFR Part 199 as a condition of employment (pre-employment, random, post-accident, etc.)
  • Physical requirements & work conditions: normal visual acuity 20/40 if corrected, color vision, ability to detect petroleum by smell, heavy work
  • Color recognition for control panel indicator lights and to analyze product colors
Responsibilities
  • Participate in NexGen Training Program to build technical skills and gain hands-on experience
  • Monitor pipeline systems, perform inspections, launch and receive pipeline internal tools, and conduct minor maintenance
  • Guide junior team members at higher levels, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Perform covered tasks under 49 CFR 195.501(b) and respond to abnormal operating conditions with confidence
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate and/or Technical degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Ideally, 1–4+ years of experience in pipeline operations
  • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training; Forklift training/licensing, and/or fire training
  • Experience with HMI systems and batch scheduling
