Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design engineering and manufacturing teams to define and develop test software for high-volume manufacturing of high-end optical components.
  • Own manufacturing testing end to end by ensuring modifications and upgrades to test and manufacturing software follow change control and established quality management system requirements, including software revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, and test logs.
  • Keep documentation and test specifications up to date, using systematic processes for test cases, results, and defect management.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems; validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches; configure and use traffic generators such as IXIA to simulate network environments and evaluate performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases in Python.
  • Continuously improve test frameworks and methodologies.
  • Integrate test software with cloud monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with developers and hardware engineers to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects; support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to resolve product issues.
  • Own manufacturing testing end to end by ensuring changes to test hardware and processes follow change control and established quality management system requirements, including equipment selection and specification, tester bill of materials and estimated cost, test schematic diagrams, test flows, and work instructions.
  • Maintain tester documentation and specifications; analyze test results for compliance with performance specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop, assemble, validate, approve, and release testers for production.
  • Be responsible for product test yield, quality, and reliability.
  • Use expertise in optical test equipment and protocols as they relate to manufacturing and design of optical transceivers.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, IT, and database architects to define better solutions for managing and analyzing manufacturing test data.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience testing transceiver modules at 400G, 800G, 1.6T, or similar data rates is preferred.
  • Experience and skill in C# and/or Python with database integration, including SQL and NoSQL, for test-data logging and analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to write or adapt automation scripts in Python, LabVIEW, or Visual Basic; shell scripting is a plus.
  • Ability to train and mentor peers when needed.

About the Company

Lumilens

Photonic interconnects for AI infrastructure

Lumilens designs and manufactures optical interconnect products to accelerate AI infrastructure. It provides high-density photonic interconnects—such as high-density pluggable, near-packaged, and co-packaged optics—built with in-house silicon photonics to scale GPU clusters in AI data centers. Its products include 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers for AI networking, and it is pursuing broader integration like Electrical-Optical Interposers through a strategic partnership with POET Technologies. The company differentiates itself through vertical integration, custom robotics-driven manufacturing, and AI-optimized production processes that aim to improve yield and supply chain stability. Lumilens targets hyperscalers and large AI providers, seeking to move interconnect bottlenecks from compute to scalable, efficient data-center networks. Its goal is to enable faster, denser GPU connectivity to support growing AI workloads and models.
