Chattanooga-based BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, the state's largest health insurer, said it would lay off around 150 employees between September and early 2026 as it cut its Shared Health subsidiary.
Last year, BlueCross launched its Network E program in Chattanooga as its lowest-premium plan in Chattanooga through a new and more restrictive network of health providers in a partnership with Erlanger Health.
BlueCross in 2023 accepted a $10 million bid from the county for the purchase of the Gateway building.
