Virtual Production Operator
About the job
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine, including Blueprints, LiveLink, tracking systems, and LED technology, as well as Maya and the visual effects pipeline.
- Understand filmmaking technology, including cameras, film back, aperture, shutter, and field of view.
- Have knowledge of stage hardware and systems.
- Have knowledge of Disguise programming and operation.
- Have knowledge of RenderStream execution.
- Have knowledge of networking and in-camera visual effects infrastructure.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with the Virtual Production Supervisor and Synapse technical team.
- Execute technically difficult work and maintain a productive attitude under the pressure of live-action production.
- Be familiar with version control such as Perforce.
- Be familiar with OCIO/ACES color pipelines.
- Be detail-oriented and organized.
- Collaborate with the Virtual Production Supervisor to prepare and run Disguise projects and Unreal Engine environments for in-camera visual effects shooting workflows.
- Collaborate with the Virtual Production Supervisor to prepare and run two-dimensional video plates in Disguise, including ingest, versioning, and alignment.
- Assist with Unreal Engine setup, calibration, and operation during preproduction and shoots.
- Identify and execute customization, optimization, or Blueprint needs for environments and video plates.
- Maintain a high standard of quality and speed in virtual production workflows.
- Collaborate within a team toward a common goal and prioritize conflicting tasks effectively.
- Work with Production and the Virtual Production Supervisor to establish and maintain color pipelines according to project requirements.
- Oversee studio maintenance and implement technology upgrades during downtime between shoots.
- Possess essential virtual production experience in feature films or television, including traditional filmmaking on-set experience.
- Have experience with Pixera and other media servers.
- Have knowledge of physical lighting protocols such as DMX, Art-Net, and sACN.
