Requirements
  • Hold a medical degree and be licensed or eligible for licensure in Quebec.
  • Complete Vascular Surgery training and hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent certification.
  • Complete a minimum of one year of clinical fellowship in vascular surgery.
  • Demonstrate commitment to and excellence in clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation.
  • Demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec at the position’s campus.
  • Communicate in English verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
  • Provide consultancy-level support for elective and emergency vascular surgery.
  • Participate in general vascular surgery practice and on-call vascular surgery consultancy support.
  • Participate in all academic activities of the Division of Vascular Surgery and develop an academic practice at Jewish General Hospital.
  • Develop a research or other scholarly focus and program to pursue peer-reviewed grant and salary support.
  • Participate in teaching, student and resident supervision, and academic and administrative committees.
  • Contribute to service activities within the academic unit, university, and wider scholarly community.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual French and English language skills, or a strong commitment to acquire the language skills needed to practice medicine in Quebec.
  • Additional expertise in peripheral arterial intervention.
  • Formal exposure to implementation and administration of a limb-salvage program.
  • Other fellowship training that could enhance the Division’s clinical and scholarly mission.
  • Fellowship experience in TransCarotid Artery Revascularization and assessment and management of thoracic outlet syndromes.
  • Formal evidence of excellence in clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation, including peer recognition, awards, or distinctions.

Club M&A and McGill's Dobson Centre launch acquisition programme as $218B in Canadian businesses set for ownership transition

Club M&A Canada and McGill's Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship have opened registration for their first Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition programme. The intensive four-day course, running 27–30 October in Montreal, targets professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in acquiring existing small or medium-sized businesses. The programme addresses a significant succession challenge in Canada. According to the Business Development Bank of Canada, nearly one in five Canadian businesses will undergo ownership transition within five years, representing over $300 billion in business revenue. Marc Deegan, founder of R33 Ventures, will serve as programme director. The curriculum covers developing investment theses, target evaluation, financial and legal considerations, acquisition financing, and post-acquisition transition. Instructors include transaction professionals, lawyers, tax specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with acquisition experience. Admission is by application, with no prior M&A experience required.
