Requirements
  • At least 5 years of industry-related work experience in a professional or management capacity.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated project or phase management experience for large-scale projects.
  • Strong proficiency with or understanding of AutoCAD, MicroStation, GeoPak, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly define assignments and deliverables to team members.
  • Ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a project team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and solve problems under changing conditions.
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration.
  • A professional license is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage land survey projects from start to finish while ensuring services meet company quality standards and client specifications.
  • Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
  • Sign and seal plats, field notes, and control drawings if required.
  • Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple land survey projects.
  • Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders.
  • Interface effectively with sub-consultants and other business relationships.
  • Provide support to other operational units as needed.
  • Manage and report financial status, including accounts receivable, work in progress, and billing cycles.
  • Represent company interests in meetings and trade shows as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the company's strategic goals.

Peak Rock Capital sells SAM to New Mountain Capital after doubling revenue

Peak Rock Capital has sold SAM Companies, a geospatial and inspection services provider for utilities and critical infrastructure, to New Mountain Capital. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under Peak Rock's ownership since 2021, SAM more than doubled revenue, completed 19 acquisitions, and expanded from its original footprint to add 25 offices. The company now serves 20 of the top 25 US utilities, providing end-to-end geospatial intelligence services across the critical infrastructure lifecycle. SAM, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, uses advanced scientific methods to capture and analyse infrastructure data, supporting grid modernisation and AI-driven infrastructure investment. The company has developed technical and AI capabilities positioning it as an industry leader in the sector. Guggenheim Securities and Houlihan Lokey advised on the transaction.
