About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or backend engineering, with ownership of production infrastructure.
  • Production infrastructure-as-code experience, including maintaining declared infrastructure in sync with running systems; Terraform experience is ideal, though experience with another infrastructure-as-code tool is transferable.
  • Working depth in a major cloud platform, including managed databases, networking, identity, and secrets; the company primarily uses Azure, while AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience is transferable.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain Terraform defining the cloud footprint, review changes for blast radius, and keep modules usable by engineers outside the platform team.
  • Run Kubernetes clusters and Helm-deployed services, including resource tuning, scaling behavior, and failure modes under load.
  • Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines in GitHub Actions for dependable builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Improve instrumentation, dashboards, and alerting for platform behavior, and make alerts specific enough to drive action.
  • Track cloud spending, identify waste, and add controls that catch expensive changes before deployment.
  • Manage secrets, least-privilege access, dependency and image scanning, and policy checks that catch mistakes during review.
  • Provide scoped identities and audit trails for coding agents and automation, add checks for generated infrastructure mistakes before application, and track their usage costs.
  • Share the on-call rotation, respond to platform degradation, and implement changes that prevent recurring incidents.

Desired Qualifications

  • Production Kubernetes experience, including tracing failing workloads through configuration, networking, and resource limits.
  • Experience building and debugging continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions.
  • Python, Go, or Bash scripting sufficient to automate manual processes end to end and maintain the resulting automation.
  • Hands-on observability experience, including instrumentation, dashboards, and alert tuning.
  • Production on-call experience, including driving at least one incident to resolution and documenting it afterward.
  • Experience building and improving internal tools for other engineers based on observed usage.
  • Fluency with AI-native engineering tools and agentic workflows, including terminal-native coding agents and large-language-model-assisted code refactoring and generation.
  • Experience designing least-privilege credentials for automated systems, including continuous integration service accounts, scoped tokens, short-lived credentials, and audit trails.
