About the job

Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a closely related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple functional areas of a business, such as marketing, product, finance, or operations.
  • Strong SQL skills, including independently writing complex analytical queries with joins across multiple tables and aggregations at different levels of grain.
  • Working understanding of relational table structure and data modeling concepts, including reading an existing schema and identifying changes needed to support new analysis.
  • Proven experience with modern reporting tools such as Hex, Looker, or Omni.
  • Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar to accelerate analytical work, with the ability to apply them productively from day one.
  • A specific example from a past role of a report or metric built that changed a stakeholder's decision, not merely informed it.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • A track record suggesting genuine interest in developing analytical craft over several years rather than quickly moving toward a management track.
Responsibilities
  • Design and build reports and dashboards that help stakeholders self-monitor their part of the business.
  • Identify underlying business drivers behind metric movement, going beyond reporting what happened.
  • Partner with stakeholders to use data to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Identify the KPIs a team or function should monitor and build ongoing reporting to track them.
  • Build and maintain monthly financial reports, incorporating light financial analysis across revenue, margin, and cost lines.
  • Retire or simplify reports that no longer drive decisions.
  • Analyze marketing efficiency, including customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, spend efficiency, and channel-level performance.
  • Analyze merchandising, revenue, and profit or margin, including product- and category-level performance and margin drivers.
  • Analyze customer cohort behavior, including retention curves, repeat purchase patterns, and Autoship performance.
  • Analyze Care Services productivity, including throughput, service-level metrics, and staffing efficiency.
  • Turn stakeholder input, such as a hunch, complaint, or open question, into a concrete, testable hypothesis about which lever to pull.
  • Build tracking before a lever is pulled so results can be measured.
  • Report whether a lever worked and adjust the tracking or hypothesis when it did not.
  • Flag when a stakeholder request points to a larger underlying question worth raising rather than only answering the request as stated.
  • Work directly with stakeholders at every level, from individual contributors to senior leadership.
  • Translate technical or data-heavy findings into plain language that non-analytical stakeholders can act on.
  • Understand table structure and data model design sufficiently to direct how existing tables should be re-engineered to support analysis.
  • Write complex, efficient SQL to build and maintain analytical queries independently.
  • Use AI tools, including Claude, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, and Hex in everyday workflow from day one.
  • Escalate data model or table-structure issues rather than repeatedly working around them.
Desired Qualifications
  • E-commerce or direct-to-consumer experience is strongly preferred; service-business experience in support, care, or operations is also valuable.
  • A degree in a quantitative, business, or related field is preferred.

What believers are saying

  • Carewell's site still advertises free shipping, Autoship discounts, and delivery by September 14.
  • Private-label incontinence, launched in 2024, deepens margins and repeat purchasing.
  • The Miami headquarters move and MBF Healthcare-backed hiring broaden execution capacity.

What critics are saying

  • Amazon, Walmart, and direct-to-consumer brands can undercut Carewell's pricing within months.
  • Medicare, Medicaid, and insurer reimbursement changes compress caregiver spending immediately.
  • If Amazon absorbs caregiver demand, Carewell becomes a low-margin shipping business.

What makes Carewell unique

  • Carewell sells caregiver-focused medical supplies with guidance, not generic marketplace listings.
  • Carewell pairs fast, free shipping and Autoship with 24/7 support and product help.
  • Miami-based leadership from Chewy and healthcare investors adds e-commerce operating discipline.
