Requirements
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience in administration, applied theatre, or arts-in-education; alternatively, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two years of relevant work experience, or a master's degree from an accredited college and at least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, motivation, initiative, project management ability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to working in culturally diverse settings and using youth-centered practices, with enthusiasm for working with young people and the ability to engage diverse partners and stakeholders, including funders.
  • Strong organizational, written, and communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate, detailed, and well-organized records.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, multitask, and develop new skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Access, Adobe, social media platforms and metrics, and the Internet.
Responsibilities
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of RFCUNY, Creative Arts Team, and CAT Theatre-Making Program policies, pedagogy, and procedures, and help develop or revise them when needed.
  • Work with the Program Director to develop annual plans for the Theatre for Learning program.
  • Build relationships and liaise with school administrators, City Council and government employees, CAT and K16 staff, young people, and other stakeholders, and respond to changing partner and stakeholder needs.
  • Oversee long-term and day-to-day administrative matters for the Theatre for Learning program, including program start-up, delivery, and close-out.
  • Create and maintain accurate calendars, manage project deadlines, book rehearsal spaces, and schedule residencies.
  • Orient Theatre for Learning staff on CUNY and CAT protocols, timesheets, office and space protocols, email, equipment use, health benefits orientation, sick leave, fingerprinting, CUNY identification, and space identification.
  • Participate in Actor-Teacher Trainings and maintain familiarity with the curriculum.
  • Monitor compliance with and adherence to CAT procedures, solve problems as necessary, and generate, distribute, and collect required paperwork and flyers.
  • Order supplies and maintain financial records related to program expenditures.
  • Liaise with Teaching Artists to ensure they have agreed materials, supplies, and flyers.
  • Collaborate with the CAT Development Team on reporting, data entry, City Council needs, and funding application needs.
  • Represent the program at public-facing events, support culminating work and final sharings in schools and communities, invite and track key stakeholders, and maintain a visible presence at sites.
  • Record or collate anecdotal evidence of program effects on participants and ensure evaluations are designed and collated appropriately.
  • Reflect on the work, assess long-term goals, and submit reports, assessments, and statistics in a timely manner.
  • Initiate discussions, meetings, and plans to meet program needs; support the Program Director in advocacy; and identify and fulfill key priorities.
  • Work with CAT staff to expand programming opportunities and grow the program.
  • Support additional cross-program needs, including CAT Youth Theatre productions and events, Sound Thinking NYC gatherings, and the four-week summer intensive.
  • Complete ongoing professional development, including at least one agreed professional development experience annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience or familiarity with applied theatre and/or arts-in-education programming.
  • Basic web design using Canva and graphic design experience.
