Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York bar as an active member in good standing, or qualification to register as in-house counsel under New York rules.
  • Five to seven years of relevant legal experience, including strong litigation experience; in-house experience is a plus.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing a wide range of litigation documents.
  • Experience managing matters from investigation or pre-litigation demand through settlement, regulatory response, or formal proceedings.
  • Strong understanding of litigation and the ability to identify and assess legal issues across business contexts.
  • Strong written and oral research and communication skills, judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and set priorities using sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with initiative, accountability, and self-motivation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility with stakeholders across functions and levels of seniority.
  • Practical, business-oriented mindset and confidence advising senior leaders on complex issues with clarity and discretion.
  • Commitment to ethics, professionalism, and high-quality legal work.
Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and support on actual or threatened litigation, including commercial disputes, consumer claims, data privacy, and antitrust matters, across courts, regulatory bodies, arbitrations, and mediations in the United States and abroad.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues and outside counsel on litigation, including reviewing and drafting filings and managing responses to discovery requests and subpoenas.
  • Provide legal advice and support on commercial, operational, and strategic business matters.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate confidentiality agreements, settlements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across privacy, intellectual property, media, antitrust, employment, compliance, litigation, and corporate legal matters.
  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to identify legal and business risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Advise on the legal implications of new initiatives, products, partnerships, and ways of working.
  • Support internal clients on policy interpretation, process improvement, and issue resolution aligned with company objectives.
  • Maintain and improve legal templates, playbooks, and training materials.
  • Maintain matter-management practices, including trackers, litigation reports, status updates, budgets, and communications to Legal leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in business-driven and department-led projects that may be cross-functional, regional, or global.
  • Stay current on legal and regulatory developments involving technology, artificial intelligence, privacy, and other relevant subject matters, while supporting responsible legal-process improvement and technology adoption.
