About the job

Requirements
  • Completed vocational training or university studies focused on accounting, ideally with a Bilanzbuchhalter/in (IHK) qualification or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in financial accounting, including demonstrated experience in a leadership role such as team lead or senior accountant with leadership responsibility.
  • Confident use of DATEV and thorough knowledge of HGB.
  • Experience with multi-entity and consolidation topics across multiple countries, currently Germany, Austria, and the United Kingdom.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating new companies into accounting processes for asset deals and share deals, from due diligence through stable handover; both transaction types are regular requirements for the role.
  • Thorough tax knowledge, especially VAT, and experience coordinating with tax advisors in multiple countries; UK foundational knowledge is advantageous.
  • Experience working with auditors and preparing annual financial statement audits.
  • Experience building, standardizing, and optimizing accounting processes, rather than only executing existing processes.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Accounting function in both professional and disciplinary matters.
  • Own the strategic accounting integration of new companies from due diligence through stable handover for asset deals and share deals; detailed operational execution is handled by the Mid/Senior Accountant.
  • Build and develop AI-supported accounting automation, including automated account assignment, AI-assisted document processing, and close checks; evaluate and implement tools.
  • Automate, standardize, and scale Accounting processes, including with AI tools.
  • Review and approve monthly and annual financial statements, hold final professional responsibility for them, and oversee group-wide consolidation; the Mid/Senior Accountant performs the operational preparation at entity level.
  • Coordinate audits and tax matters, taking over these responsibilities from the Head of Finance after onboarding.
  • Ensure the professional quality of AR and AP account assignments through periodic reconciliation reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead FinOps and Team Lead FP&A/Controlling at the interface between Accounting, FinOps, and Controlling.
  • Serve as the central contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and external accounting service providers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a growing or private-equity-driven corporate group with many legal entities.
  • Experience with LucaNet, which is used for group reporting and consolidation.
  • Genuine interest in or experience with AI-supported accounting and automation tools, such as Moss or AI account assignment.
  • Very good spoken and written English.
