Requirements
  • A degree in Mathematics, Science, or an Engineering Field is required.
  • At least 8 years of combined education and experience working with large-scale data analysis or processing is required.
  • Expert-level fluency in Python is required.
  • Experience with a Linux-based development workflow, including tools such as Git, SSH, Make, and shell scripting, is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, fast-paced environment is required.
  • The candidate must be an independent self-learner and an excellent problem solver.
Responsibilities
  • Drive architectural improvements to internal machine learning training frameworks, including modularization and experiment tracking.
  • Adapt and optimize existing fire hazard detection algorithms for new electrical environments and grid configurations.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that process high-frequency sensor data and feed downstream systems.
  • Develop dashboards and automated tooling to monitor models, identify drift, and own processes that ensure models continue to meet performance expectations.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the technology stack and collaborate across data science, product, and fire safety leadership to conceptualize and deliver improvements.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, or a similar academic field.
  • Experience with a data-driven technology stack, including building and maintaining machine learning pipelines, frameworks, or libraries.
  • Experience with cloud ecosystems, preferably Amazon Web Services, and containerized services.

Unlike broader safety devices, Ting focuses specifically on predicting electrical faults and fires through detailed electrical sensing and analytics, aiming to reduce fire risk before it happens.
