About the job
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- One year or more of basic car-care experience is helpful but not necessary.
- A customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment are required.
- The candidate must be mechanically inclined.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- The candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong customer service skills and a desire to build long-term trust and relationships with customers are required.
- Willingness to work Saturdays and/or Sundays is required.
- The candidate must be able to meet the listed physical requirements, including prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting 50–100 pounds occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and greater than 10 pounds constantly; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing or pulling of materials.
- Change oil and oil filters in cars and light trucks.
- Install, repair, and rotate automobile tires.
- Inspect and top off engine fluids.
- Lubricate frontend parts as needed.
- Perform accurate and thorough vehicle inspections using a checklist covering potential trouble spots such as belts, hoses, and brakes.
- Move and operate customer vehicles into and out of service bays.
- Maintain positive customer relationships.
- Maintain positive and productive working relationships with coworkers and management.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and functional.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Represent the organization professionally by consistently demonstrating trust, honesty, and respect.
