AEye LiDAR joins Liteon camera fusion demo in Barcelona.

AEye LiDAR joins Liteon camera fusion demo in Barcelona. AEye and Liteon are making the case that no single sensor can carry automated driving, and that fusion is becoming the baseline * September 24, 2026 AEye is supplying its Apollo LiDAR for a Liteon vehicle demonstration at the InCabin Europe 2026 show in Barcelona, where the sensor's 3D point-cloud data is merged with Liteon camera imagery into one perception output. The pairing shows how each sensing type can fill gaps left by the other in driver assistance and automated driving. Cameras record rich visual detail, while LiDAR precisely maps the physical environment in three dimensions. Fusing both gives perception software more context for identifying objects, a need that grows as automakers add more complex assistance features. Apollo is a compact, long-range unit whose performance is set through software. Integrators can tune its sensing to particular applications without touching the hardware, a flexibility AEye pitches squarely at automotive programmes. "Tomorrow's vehicles will require perception systems that can understand the world with greater accuracy, range, and context," Matt Fisch, Chairman and Chief Executive of AEye, said. "Cameras and LiDAR each provide valuable information about the driving environment, and bringing those capabilities together can create a more complete picture for the vehicle. We're excited to have Apollo be part of Liteon's demonstration at InCabin Europe." At the show, which runs from 22 to 24 September 2026, the demonstration system processes both data streams into a single visualisation of the surroundings. Visitors can see the setup throughout the event.

AEye partners with Swiftstrike AI to integrate STRATOS lidar for counter-drone detection

AEye, a software-defined lidar solutions provider, is partnering with Swedish defence technology company AB Swiftstrike AI to integrate its STRATOS lidar into counter-unmanned aircraft systems. The collaboration aims to improve detection of small drone threats by combining Swiftstrike's autonomous, multi-sensor platform with AEye's ultra-long-range lidar technology. The partnership addresses the growing challenge of detecting increasingly smaller, cheaper, and more autonomous drones that often operate without radio links, limiting traditional detection methods. AEye's lidar provides three-dimensional detection capabilities that don't rely on radio-frequency signals. Fortune Business Insights projects the global counter-UAS market will grow from approximately $14.4 billion in 2026 to $55.3 billion by 2034. The integration supports AEye's expansion into the defence sector and positions both companies to serve military, government, and critical-infrastructure security customers.
