What believers are saying

  • Apprenticeships map a longer career: MHC outlines five-to-seven years from diesel apprentice to master technician or leadership.
  • Students learn dealership operations: MHC's eight-to-ten-week summer internship covers parts and service; management trainees work with customers.
  • Expansion adds a dedicated team: MHC's February 2026 plan broadens medium-duty coverage in Dallas-Fort Worth.

What critics are saying

  • Financial disclosures are limited: privately held MHC publishes fewer financial details than publicly traded Rush Enterprises.
  • Mechanic work carries equipment hazards: MHC's October 2026 Chillicothe posting identifies safety-sensitive work around heavy machinery.
  • Diesel applicants need qualifications and tools: MHC's October 2026 posting requires experience or vocational study plus multiple certificates.

What makes Murphy-Hoffman Company unique

  • Kenworth is a core specialty: MHC claims the brand's largest dealer network, while Rush carries several competing truck brands.
  • Factory deliveries have a dedicated center: MHC's 55-bay RoadReady facility processes Kenworth trucks before delivery.
  • MHC also manufactures truck bodies: its RoadForce line makes dump-truck bodies alongside dealership operations.
