About the Job

Requirements

  • At the standard level, have 3 or more years of product design experience, ideally on business-to-business software-as-a-service products.
  • Provide a portfolio showing shipped work and the progression from problem to solution.
  • Have experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces for business users.
  • Have hands-on experience with AI model-driven design and prototyping, using tools such as Claude to turn a design system into working user interfaces.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and able to take a rough problem through to a shipped design.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and product partners, and explain design decisions with clear rationale.
  • Demonstrate strong interaction design and visual design craft.
  • At the senior level, have 5 or more years of product design experience on business-to-business software-as-a-service products, with clear ownership of major workflows or product areas.
  • At the senior level, provide a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end workflow thinking, product leadership, and measurable shipped outcomes.
  • At the senior level, demonstrate strength in system design, including information architecture and reusable patterns that work across a whole product.
  • At the senior level, have a record of leading work from problem framing through shipment, persuading leadership, and influencing the roadmap.
  • At the senior level, have experience mentoring designers or raising the design practice on a team.
  • Be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver user experience and visual design across all Sustainment products.
  • Develop and use AI-driven prototyping and the design system consistently, including shared patterns across assigned areas.
  • Work with product management and engineering to deliver design based on users' functional needs.
  • Plan and conduct user research with manufacturers and suppliers, including interviews and rapid prototype tests, and synthesize findings clearly.
  • Produce user experience artifacts, including journey maps, interaction models, and high-fidelity user interfaces built on the design system.
  • Use AI model-driven design tools such as Claude to generate user interfaces and working prototypes from the design system, test ideas quickly, and present concepts to users early.
  • Design data-dense procurement screens and AI-assisted decision flows that keep users in control and maintain trust.
  • Write design specifications covering edge cases, and remain involved through quality assurance and launch.
  • Present designs and rationale to the team, and participate in giving and receiving critique.
  • At the senior level, own end-to-end design coherence across the platform so the product feels like one system rather than a set of features.
  • At the senior level, own the information architecture and reusable patterns connecting the core workflows.
  • At the senior level, set the long-term design vision for how buyers and suppliers use the platform, including AI-assisted decision-making, and ensure it is reflected in the roadmap.
  • At the senior level, set the research agenda and maintain a research cadence that shapes product priorities.
  • At the senior level, present designs and rationale to company leadership.
  • At the senior level, strengthen the design system so AI models can build from it reliably, build a strong critique culture and research habits, and mentor other designers as the team grows.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience at an early-stage company.
  • Background in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations software.
