Requirements
  • A graduate degree in business administration, health care administration management, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in executive finance leadership within a large, integrated, complex health system, healthcare industry public accounting, or financial consulting for large health systems.
  • Experience in system healthcare.
  • Strong experience producing reliable financial projections and pro forma analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a matrixed organization.
  • Significant experience working with auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related matters.
  • Experience directing high-functioning, matrixed teams with a proven record of developing effective, high-performing leaders.
  • A record of enhancing overall financial outcomes and advancing an organization.
  • A thorough understanding of system strategy, operations, and technology, with the ability to assess trends and implement best practices.
  • Strong project management, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, listening, collaboration, and partnership-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of administration and personnel management.
  • Ability to provide proof of work authorization in the United States.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when managing sensitive employee, student, health, patient, financial, strategic, proprietary, and other confidential information; safeguard records, follow data protection and privacy policies, and prevent unauthorized disclosure.
Responsibilities
  • Provide financial leadership and coordinate UCI Health's financial operations, reporting procedures, budget development, and management functions.
  • Ensure financial strength to fulfill strategic objectives and maintain financial stability in alignment with the organization's clinical, research, and teaching missions.
  • Assess and evaluate the organization's financial performance against long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Create and establish annual financial objectives.
  • Develop and implement value-based strategies.
  • Provide proactive and creative financial guidance and advice to the Board of Directors and senior leaders.
  • Serve as a collaborative and strategic partner to the President, Dean, and senior leadership team of UCI Health.
  • Balance the clinical, research, and academic missions of the organization with the need for bottom-line results.
  • Tackle difficult financial and organizational issues and achieve desired results under challenging conditions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Academic health system financial management experience is preferred.
