GE Vernova: $12.6B quarterly revenue, but is the 32% undervaluation narrative right?

GE Vernova reported third-quarter revenue of $12,642 million and net income of $1,291 million. The company also beat earnings expectations and raised guidance. Its shares closed at $862.25, down 12.8% over 30 days and 15.3% over 90 days. They are still up 26.9% this year, and total shareholder return over one year is 48.7%. A popular narrative on Simply Wall St puts fair value at $1,269.77, implying the stock is 32% undervalued. It rests on surging power demand from AI data centres, electrification, and grid upgrades. A discounted cash flow model disagrees, estimating value at $715.64 and calling the shares overvalued. Risks include deeper offshore wind losses and a slowdown in AI-driven power buildouts.

GE Vernova signs 11GW of gas deals in Q3 as $9B Trench deal looms; can orders outpace shipments?

GE Vernova said on October 28 that it has signed 52 gigawatts of new gas power agreements so far in 2026, lining up work for its largest business. In the third quarter, it signed 11 gigawatts of gas turbine orders and slot reservations against 5 gigawatts shipped. Total gas capacity under contract rose from 116 to 122 gigawatts. Power brought in $19.8 billion of the company's $38.1 billion fiscal 2025 revenue. Management raised its 2026 organic revenue growth forecast for Power to 19% to 21%, from 18% to 20%. Free cash flow reached $5.41 billion in the quarter, against $733 million a year earlier, helped by down payments. The company expects at least 130 gigawatts under contract by year-end, which implies 13 gigawatts or more of new agreements in the fourth quarter. It also agreed to buy Trench Group for $9 billion.

GE Vernova agreed to buy Trench Group for $9 billion, the power equipment maker said on its third-quarter earnings call on October 28, 2026. The company also doubled its share buyback programme from $10 billion to $20 billion. It holds $17 billion in cash and will fund the acquisition with a mix of debt and cash. Chief executive officer Scott Strazik said the company is "still in the early stages of this electricity investment super cycle.

GE Vernova to buy Trench Group from Triton Partners for $9B

GE Vernova will buy high-voltage grid equipment maker Trench Group from investment firm Triton Partners in a $9 billion deal, the power equipment maker said on Wednesday. It aims to expand its electrification business and tap surging investment in power grids. The acquisition will add manufacturing capacity and widen GE Vernova's reach across North America, Europe, and Asia. It also gives the company access to Trench's backlog and framework agreements worth about $5 billion. GE Vernova expects to pay half in cash and half in debt, and to close the deal in late 2027. Separately, it raised its full-year revenue forecast for a third consecutive time, to $46.5 billion to $47.5 billion from $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion.
