Requirements
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, or related leadership roles, with a track record of operating at enterprise scale in high-growth, founder-led, or operationally complex organizations.
  • Deep expertise in compensation design, including job leveling, salary structures, market benchmarking, equity frameworks, and offer governance, with the ability to design systems from first principles rather than replicate prior-company models.
  • Hands-on experience supporting executive compensation in public or pre-public environments, including equity planning, burn-rate modeling, benchmarking, proxy-related processes, and preparation of compensation committee materials.
  • Proven ability to establish and enforce compensation governance, approval frameworks, and decision rights, particularly in environments where business leaders have historically driven pay decisions without centralized oversight.
  • Working knowledge of benefits strategy and administration, with experience setting direction, managing brokers and vendors, and ensuring programs are competitive, compliant, and scalable.
  • Strong analytical capability and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior leaders, challenge assumptions, and clearly articulate tradeoffs and risk.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, with the ability to partner with HR Operations to ensure clean enablement and data integrity.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement clear, enterprise-wide total rewards programs aligned to the company’s mission, growth trajectory, and operating model, balancing market competitiveness with strong cost and governance discipline.
  • Build and modernize foundational compensation architecture, including job leveling, salary structures, compensation grades, and market benchmarking, simplifying legacy complexity and creating scalable frameworks.
  • Establish clear compensation governance, decision rights, and approval processes for offers, promotions, equity grants, and adjustments across the organization.
  • Partner with the SVP, HR on executive compensation strategy and execution, including equity programs, executive pay design, benchmarking, burn-rate awareness, and preparation of compensation committee and proxy-related materials.
  • Serve as a trusted behind-the-scenes advisor to the head of HR on board- and committee-facing compensation topics, ensuring accuracy, rigor, and readiness while operating with discretion.
  • Assess, design, and evolve incentive compensation programs, including sales incentives and role-specific plans, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and operational realities.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose compensation solutions for a highly complex workforce, including clinical teams, 24/7 operations and command center roles, pilots, and other specialized or regulated populations.
  • Provide oversight of benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, scalability, and a strong employee experience, while managing vendor and broker relationships.
  • Partner closely with HR Operations and HRIS to ensure total rewards programs are effectively enabled in Workday, including clean job architecture, pay structures, and data integrity.
  • Build reporting and analytics capabilities to support compensation decisions, budgeting, workforce planning, and leadership transparency.
  • Evaluate existing total rewards talent, operating model, and vendors, upgrading capability as needed and building a high-performing team over time.
  • Support U.S.-centric programs while ensuring readiness for international expansion by rapidly adapting compensation and benefits practices to new geographies as the business evolves.
  • Operate with high ownership and pace in an ambiguous environment, anticipating issues, solving problems proactively, and delivering practical solutions that do not slow the business.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ideally, experience designing rewards for diverse populations such as field-based teams, hub-and-spoke models, 24/7 operations, regulated roles, or highly specialized workforces.

About the company

TransMedics makes the Organ Care System (OCS), a portable platform that keeps donor organs alive outside the body by warm, oxygenated perfusion and continuous viability monitoring. The OCS circulates warmed, nutrient-rich blood through the organ, allowing surgeons to assess health in near-physiological conditions. Revenue comes from selling OCS consoles, disposable sets used per procedure, and the National OCS Program, which provides end-to-end organ retrieval and logistics services. It distinguishes itself by holding FDA approvals to preserve and assess hearts, lungs, and livers in the United States and by integrating hardware, consumables, and logistics to expand transplant opportunities.

  • CHOPS and kidney development burn cash while gross margin slipped to 60% in Q2 2026.
  • A bad ENHANCE or DENOVO safety signal in 2026-2027 would damage OCS credibility.

  • The National OCS Program bundles surgeons, logistics, aircraft, and disposables into a sticky ecosystem.
  • PAD Aviation extends TransMedics' logistics moat into Europe, copying the U.S. NOP playbook.

TransMedics and SoFi stocks fall 28% and 34% but show strong buying potential

TransMedics Group and SoFi Technologies have declined 28% and 34% respectively over the past year, presenting potential buying opportunities despite broader market strength driven by tech giants. TransMedics, which developed the Organ Care System for transplants, faces near-term headwinds. Second-quarter revenue grew 21% year over year to $189.9 million, marking a slowdown from recent quarters. Adjusted earnings per share fell 52% to $0.44. However, the company is investing in expansion initiatives, including potential kidney transplant approval and a logistics network for greater control over the organ transplant cycle. These investments are pressuring current profits but could drive future growth. The OCS technology maintains organ temperature and blood supply during transport, addressing limitations of traditional cold storage methods. With a large addressable market remaining, the stock may offer value at current levels.

TransMedics reports 21% revenue growth to $190M in Q2 2026, raises guidance despite margin pressure

TransMedics Group reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $189.9 million, a 21% increase from $157.4 million in the prior year period. Gross margin decreased to 60% from 61% year-over-year, reflecting a higher mix of service revenue and temporary product-cost factors. Net income fell to $14.7 million, or $0.41 per diluted share, compared to $34.9 million, or $0.92 per share, in the second quarter of 2025. The company raised the low end of its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $737 million to $757 million, representing approximately 22% to 25% growth. TransMedics invests in PAD Aviation to build Europe-wide organ transplant air logistics network

TransMedics Group has completed a strategic investment in PAD Aviation service GmbH, a Germany-based private aviation operator. The deal aims to establish a dedicated organ transplantation air logistics network across Europe, replicating TransMedics' OCS NOP model from the US. PAD Aviation, founded in 2006, operates from a 24/7 hub in Paderborn, Germany. The company maintains a fleet of nine Embraer Phenom 300 aircraft and employs over 40 pilots, holding a valid EASA Air Operator Certificate. TransMedics develops portable extracorporeal warm perfusion technology for preserving and assessing donor organs. The investment supports the company's efforts to expand adoption of its OCS perfusion technology and create a pan-European organ transport logistics network across the European Union.
