Requirements
  • The Network Systems Technician shall have a network-level certification, such as Security+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate, and a minimum of four years of network experience.
  • The Network Systems Technician shall have experience installing and operating personal computers and associated peripherals.
  • The Network Systems Technician shall have experience with Ethernet and Fast Ethernet, as well as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBIOS, NetBEUI, Simple Network Management Protocol, and DECnet.
  • A Department of Defense 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level 2 certification in an applicable networking computer discipline is required at hiring and must be maintained throughout the task order.
  • The candidate must have or be able to attain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • The candidate must demonstrate capability in supervising others, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly communicate problems and project status.
  • DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable reference and background-check results.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, architect, and support the IWSL infrastructure network.
  • Evaluate products and provide recommendations on their suitability for the IWSL network environment.
  • Plan, design, and implement Information Assurance strategies and technologies, including encryptors, perimeter and host-based firewalls, virtual private networks, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability assessment, and data analysis tools.
  • Maintain documentation related to all internal and external configuration-management processes.
  • Provide documentation for all network-related installations and activations.
  • Maintain the maintenance posture of all equipment and software supporting network operations.
  • Travel occasionally as required and perform other assigned duties.
