Podcast appearances influence voters - say voters.

Podcast appearances influence voters - say voters. Listen · October 19, 2026 · 5.3 minutes to read * In the US, one in four podcast listeners say that a candidate's podcast appearance might influence their vote. That's according to new data from Sounds Profitable, released today ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. * The Sounds Profitable data also suggests that podcasting is nearly evenly divided along party lines in terms of number of consumers. However, in terms of time spent listening, independents spend more time with podcasts according to new data also recently released from Edison Research. * Jake Shapiro from Apple Podcasts is the guest for the PodBiz podcast this week, talking about HLS ads within Apple Podcasts. His appearance "coincides" with the show becoming available in HLS video for the first time in Apple Podcasts, via Acast. * Shapiro notes that "HLS ads are both audio and video". Apple Podcasts will soon start charging advertising networks an impression-based fee for dynamic HLS ads - a charge which Podnews understands has slipped until early 2027. When it does, the company will be charging whether the user is watching or only listening. * While Acast's Podcast Pulse might suggest that podcast consumers use both audio and video, in Australia, PodPoll 26 - released today - asked a better question: "how do you prefer to consume podcasts"? Overwhelmingly, podcast consumers prefer to listen, the data shows: 60% saying they preferred audio, while only 23% say they prefer to watch podcasts. The research also shows that 50% of Australians are regular monthly podcast consumers: the first time in this study. We've more numbers from it here. * A prominent YouTuber got his account hacked, and while it wasn't his finest hour falling for the hack, it wasn't YouTube's either, trying to repair it. Calling the company "pathetic, useless and toothless", he says: "Their account recovery chat takes - I'm not joking - 10 hours per message. What should be a 3 minute conversation can take literal days, despite your entire livelihood being on the line. And after initially managing to file a case with them, I was left with zero communication for over 96 hours. Literally nothing. In the end, the process of merely accessing my channel (not being able to revert all the changes, mind you) took 4 days. I still can't change my channel name back which is fantastic, and I also can't upload any videos or take the (hacked content) off my channel homepage for at least another 7 days apparently. Absolute joke of a company. I still haven't been able to reset my AdSense payment method - if that isn't unlocked by Tuesday I will miss the deadline and will have to go a month without being paid. If that happens, how am I supposed to pay rent? Pay my bills? Feed my kids?" * SpotsNow has launched custom AI agents for podcast networks - a set of agents to take on the biggest bottlenecks in podcast ad sales. The tool promises networks can spend "more time selling, not preparing to sell". * StackAdapt has added podcast show-level targeting and exclusions to its ad planning tool. It'll allow advertisers to focus on particular genres, or avoid content that doesn't fit with their brand. The tech stuff - with rss.com. * Are you seeing lower figures for Apple Podcasts in your network? You probably should be - at the end of last week we reported on a bug, which we have now learnt was introduced in iOS 26, which probably means that much of the traffic from Apple Podcasts is appearing in "other Apple apps". This won't have an effect on "total downloads", but will make Apple Podcasts much smaller than it should be. * In fact, if you're following the IAB Podcast Measurement Guidelines correctly, you shouldn't be seeing any Apple Podcasts traffic right now... * CoHost has become the first podcast hosting company to be certified under the IAB Podcast Measurement Guidelines v2.3. The company achieved recertification on 15 October. * If you missed it - the IAB's new Podcast Measurement Guidelines v2.3 went live at the end of September. The specifications now live in GitHub. People news. * Vittoria Checchini is now Head of Production for Podcasts at dmg media. She's been with dmg for three years; previously, she'd worked for Sky News and Southern California Public Radio. Tips and tricks - with audiencelift. * Do you own a Blue Yeti microphone? Joe Coleman shares his five-point plan to get the most out of this ubiquitous microphone. Number 4 is our favourite. * Posting on YouTube? The thumbnail can make quite a difference - especially when browsing on a smart TV. The BBC shared one learning - put a title in the top third of the thumbnail. Podcast News - with airwave. Podcasts in the wild. * We shared the online story a few weeks ago, but professional Rob Walch look-a-like Will Coley was featured in print in the New York Times yesterday. He makes private podcasts for couples getting married.

Press releases.

Press releases. Genius Sports and Equativ bring live Sports Moment targeting to StackAdapt. 11 September 2026 Genius Sports Limited ("Genius Sports") (NYSE: GENI), a global leader in real-time sports data and technology, today announced a new partnership with Equativ and StackAdapt that enables advertisers and agencies to programmatically reach sports fans with creative that responds to what's happening on the field, in real time. Sports advertising has always been constrained by fixed scheduling: the same spot runs regardless of whether the game is scoreless or if a fan is on the edge of their seat. Genius Sports' Moment Engine changes that by reading and reacting to live game data feeds in real time, giving advertisers critical contextual insight into what's happening during a game. Now integrated into StackAdapt's AI advertising platform alongside Equativ's creative enhancement technology, brands can activate campaigns during a game's peak emotional moments and use dynamic creative optimization to align ad messaging with the mood fans are experiencing. For programmatic buyers, the partnership brings the Moment Engine's moment-based advertising capabilities directly into the StackAdapt media-buying workflow. The new solution combines Genius Sports' live game signals and audiences with Equativ's creative enhancement technology and StackAdapt's performance buying platform, giving brands two ways to activate. * Genius Deal Library: Select ready-to-run Genius Sports Moments audience deals in StackAdapt's marketplace with programmatic Deal IDs, with no new trafficking or creative rebuild required. Genius Sports data and Equativ's Sports Ticker enhancement can add live scores and upcoming matchups to a brand's existing CTV, video, or display creative. * Custom High-Impact: Equativ's high-impact creative technology pairs with Genius Moments to dynamically adapt campaign messaging in real time to the action on the field, from interceptions to game-winning drives, allowing creative to reflect the same live context the fan is experiencing. Both offerings are now available directly through StackAdapt via curated Deal IDs from Genius Sports and Equativ. While audience data helps determine who to reach, live game data helps determine when to reach them, allowing StackAdapt buyers to align media and creative with the moments when fan attention and emotion are highest. "Programmatic advertising has become incredibly sophisticated at understanding who a consumer is, but live sports give marketers another powerful signal: when that consumer is most engaged," said Josh Linforth, Chief Revenue Officer at Genius Sports. "Together with Equativ and StackAdapt, we're making that intelligence easy to activate within the existing media-buying workflow, giving brands a way to respond to the game as it happens rather than simply advertise around it." Built for the Second Screen The offering is designed to complement, rather than interrupt, the live sports experience by reaching fans across the digital environments they use while watching. With 84% of sports fans using a companion screen such as mobile during a broadcast, brands have a significant opportunity to extend live sports campaigns beyond the television screen. According to Equativ's research, sports fans are also 91% more likely to pay attention to an ad featuring a relevant live score, demonstrating the value of connecting advertising to a game's context. "Live sports is the most powerful emotional environment in media," said Frank Maguire, SVP, Product Marketing & Sustainability at Equativ. "As a fan's mood shifts from tension to elation in a matter of seconds according to gameplay, an ad that ignores that shift is easy to tune out. This partnership gives advertisers a simple way to understand and activate against these moments, with dynamic creative optimization that lets brands move with the emotion of the game and deliver personalized messages contextually relevant to what they're feeling in that precise moment. That alignment is what makes an ad resonate rather than just appear, and what makes this partnership with Genius Sports and StackAdapt transcendent for the industry." An Always-On Sports Strategy The offering extends beyond major tentpole events, allowing advertisers to build real-time sports strategies across the calendar. Genius Sports works with more than 400 leagues and federations globally, providing data across football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf and other sports. Through StackAdapt, buyers can use that breadth to activate against sports audiences throughout entire seasons rather than limiting moment-based campaigns to events such as championships and playoffs. "Live sports creates moments of extraordinary attention, but historically it hasn't been easy for programmatic buyers to respond to those moments as they happen," said Greg Joseph, VP, Inventory Development at StackAdapt. "By bringing Genius Sports' live intelligence and Equativ's creative technology directly into StackAdapt, we're giving advertisers a simple way to make sports campaigns more responsive to the action, while keeping activation within the platform and workflow they already use." Advertisers can contact their StackAdapt, Equativ or Genius Sports representative for additional information. About Genius Sports Genius Sports is a global leader in real-time sports data, and the official technology and media partner powering the global sports ecosystem. Its platform is used in more than 150 countries, connecting leagues, teams, sportsbooks, broadcasters, brands and fans through official data, video, analytics and fan engagement solutions. Tech overheads down, measurable growth up: How StackAdapt simplifies workflows for APAC marketers.

Tech overheads down, measurable growth up: How StackAdapt simplifies workflows for APAC marketers. by MARKETECH APAC September 1, 2026. Guided by the philosophy that growth doesn't come from adding more technology, but from connecting what already exists, StackAdapt genuinely simplifies marketing for its clients and partners. It is an approach that has marked the business out as one of the most influential forces in the region's marketing technology landscape. But achieving this position has only come by addressing the many emerging challenges that APAC's marketers face every day. The Challenge Marketing is not exactly getting easier in 2026. Those tasked with delivering results today are juggling more channels and more data than ever before. The result? An overly-complex chain of information, and according to industry data from LiveRamp, nearly all marketers (97%) say they are struggling to accurately measure marketing impact. Adding to the challenges they face, new martech solutions are constantly emerging, and marketing teams are often layering new platforms on top of what they already have, rather than replacing old software. Tech stacks become bloated, the overheads soar, and with no centralised marketing hub, the job only gets tougher. The team at StackAdapt, however, don't believe it has to be this way. Instead, they focus on solving real world problems for marketers and building the solutions that do just that. The Solution StackAdapt's strategy centres on an AI-powered, omnichannel marketing platform, built entirely in-house and capable of executing 465 billion automated optimisations per second. Rather than requiring brands to juggle separate tools, the platform brings unified audience insights, creative optimisation, and bid management into a single interface, spanning native, display, video, CTV, audio, in-game, and DOOH channels. Also core to StackAdapt's offering is ensuring that its expertise is tailored to the market it's in. So when the business launched in APAC it prioritised hiring staff who knew the region and stayed closely connected to local partners, helping adapt the technology based on real feedback and pain points from the ground up. A perfect example of this local-first approach is StackAdapt's connected TV partnership with Samba TV. The integration brought Samba TV's audience insights, planning, targeting, and measurement tools into one unified platform, putting its first-party data to work alongside contextual intelligence for local APAC campaigns. Beyond partnerships, the StackAdapt team furthers its local collaboration by providing cutting edge marketing insights to those who need them most. As well as launching a series of webinars that demystified AI and helped cut down tech stack costs, the team also premiered Conversion, a two-city, half-day marketing masterclass. Bringing together a wide range of industry experts, the events gave large crowds in Sydney and Singapore practical marketing advice and hands-on product knowledge. For those who couldn't make it, StackAdapt had them covered, with easily accessible catch-up content to help them stay ahead of the curve. In addition to these initiatives, in 2026 StackAdapt has also partnered with the IAB SEA, launching a Measurement Framework to help marketers judge where they're doing well and where they can improve. The Campaign Beyond its marketer-focused industry outreach, StackAdapt's product also has also proved its effectiveness by powering superb campaign results for clients right across the APAC region. Chief among the successes is StackAdapt's collaboration with Hyatt Asia Pacific for its Grand Hyatt brand campaign. Tasked with elevating mid-funnel engagement across South Korea, India, and Hong Kong, StackAdapt deployed an AI-powered travel targeting strategy designed to identify high-value travellers through behaviour, intent signals, and premium stay research patterns. Supported by third-party audience data and creative produced by StackAdapt's in-house Creative Studio, the multi-channel campaign ran across CTV, display, and in-banner video to deliver immersive storytelling. StackAdapt's unified platform simplified execution, enabling Hyatt to optimise frequency, refine formats, and dynamically adjust bidding based on brand lift survey responses. The result was a massive 43% increase in brand consideration, paired with stronger website visits, increased booking intent, and a halo effect that lifted physical hotel visits. Equally successful was StackAdapt's work with OPR Media on a multi-channel campaign for two leading global luxury fashion brands. By activating premium DOOH, CTV, and display placements with sequential retargeting and real-time bid optimisation, the campaign generated 14.5 million impressions, retargeted 950,000 unique users, and achieved a miniscule cost-per-completed-view of just $0.04. Similarly, Adcreators' work with GelPro showcased StackAdapt's ability to help brands with advanced audience segmentation, contextual targeting, and highly accurate measurement. The results for GelPro spoke for themselves, delivering 10x ROAS, surpassing Google and Meta benchmarks, and cutting cost per acquisition nearly in half to $13, all while realising significant CPM and CPC efficiencies. Emerging as a market leader For a brand that began as a challenger in a crowded landscape, in recent years StackAdapt has expanded its product, territories, and teams, growing into a global and regional force. The team's strong momentum this year has also not gone unnoticed with StackAdapt's crowning achievement coming via a Gold award for AdTech Team of the Year at the MARKETECH APAC Advertising Awards in August 2026. It's firm proof that the business's focus on helping marketers do their jobs more efficiently, while powering measurable growth, is a bona fide winning approach.
