About the company

Morpho is a decentralized lending protocol on the Ethereum blockchain that connects lenders and borrowers directly through peer-to-peer lending. Its operation centers on an on-chain market where third parties can build and manage their own lending markets using a Curator-as-a-Business model, while Morpho earns a small fee on borrower interest that goes to the treasury and token holders. The platform supports flexible loans and also fixed-rate, fixed-term options to provide more predictable financing in crypto markets. It differentiates itself from competitors with its marketplace-curator approach that enables customizable, modular lending markets, aiming to offer efficient, competitive borrowing and to grow a broad ecosystem of lenders, borrowers, and partners.

Morpho raises $175M at $2B valuation amid security incident and vault withdrawals

Morpho raised $175 million at a $2 billion valuation, demonstrating institutional confidence despite recent security concerns. MetaMask disclosed a staking security incident on 30 September 2026, prompting withdrawals from Sentora-managed vaults on the protocol, though no immediate losses were reported. In response to liquidity challenges, Shift DeFi exited its Liquid USDC Vault positions and paused new deposits, temporarily reducing lending capacity. As of early October 2026, available liquidity in the protocol's RLUSD and PYUSD vaults stood at $8.46 million and $2.38 million respectively. MORPHO token trades at $2.649, up 7.86%, positioned above key moving averages. Technical indicators suggest consolidation between $2.452 and $2.7373 over the coming days, though analysts remain cautious regarding protocol stability.

Morpho Midnight fixed-rate lending protocol to launch publicly in coming days

Morpho CEO Paul Frambot has announced that Morpho Midnight, the protocol's fixed-rate, fixed-term lending platform, will launch publicly "in the coming days" after months in beta. The system allows lenders and borrowers to trade towards market-set fixed rates with real maturity dates, addressing a duration dimension largely absent in DeFi. The initial launch will feature a single cbBTC/USDC market on Base across multiple maturities, currently Morpho Blue's largest market. The rollout excludes vault adapters, auto-rolling, and crosschain support initially, limiting participation to direct lenders and borrowers during live stress-testing. A flagship "multi-market offers" feature will enable liquidity providers to quote across multiple isolated markets simultaneously without capital fragmentation. Future phases will add vault adapters, additional chains and collateral types, auto-rolling for treasuries, and compliance gates. Frambot positioned Midnight as DeFi's third wave of onchain lending, potentially establishing a native yield curve for institutional credit structures.

Robinhood partners with Morpho to power new Earn product for onchain yield

Morpho, an open blockchain-based credit network, will power Robinhood's new Earn product, enabling millions of eligible US users to earn yield through a self-custody wallet within the Robinhood app. The product will roll out progressively over the coming weeks. Robinhood Earn provides risk-adjusted yield on idle balances using USDG, a dollar-pegged stablecoin. Morpho serves as the underlying credit network, whilst Steakhouse Financial curates the vault infrastructure and Robinhood Chain acts as the settlement layer. USDG is deposited into a Morpho Vault and allocated across markets where borrowers provide collateral from protocols including Spark, Ethena and Maple. The announcement follows Morpho's recent $175 million funding round, bringing total funds raised to over $250 million. Morpho currently has over $11 billion in deposits.

BitGo partners with Morpho to offer institutional DeFi vault access

BitGo is expanding institutional access to decentralised finance through a new DeFi vault offering developed with third-party infrastructure providers and risk managers. Launch partners include Morpho, a decentralised lending infrastructure protocol. The offering will enable eligible institutional clients to access third-party vaults and predefined onchain strategies through specialised partners. Independent risk managers will set strategy and risk parameters, whilst infrastructure providers supply the underlying vault architecture and onchain execution systems. Vault participation and custody of vault receipt tokens will be integrated with BitGo Bank & Trust, the company's OCC-chartered national trust bank. When client assets are transferred to third-party vaults, they deploy outside BitGo's custody environment, whilst the bank supports custody of corresponding vault receipt tokens. BitGo plans to expand the offering with additional providers and protocol integrations over time.

Zama and Morpho launch first confidential DeFi vault for encrypted USDC yield on Ethereum

Zama, Morpho, and Steakhouse Financial are launching the first confidential DeFi yield product on Ethereum, opening for deposits on 23rd June. The vault allows users to earn yield on encrypted USDC without exposing balances or strategy onchain. Zama's cUSDC uses fully homomorphic encryption to shield balances and transfer amounts whilst maintaining auditability and compliance checks. The encrypted tokens deposit into Morpho vaults, specifically Steakhouse's USDC Prime vault. Whilst targeting institutions, the product appears accessible to retail users subject to screening and jurisdictional restrictions. Zama is running a launch campaign until 22nd June, with deposits of $10 or more entering users into a prize draw. The system encrypts balances but supports auditability and compliance checks, distinguishing it from mixing services.
