Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and/or education.
  • Five years of experience.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with physicians, clinicians, leadership, patients, prospects, community members, and colleagues.
  • Ability to quickly learn complex programs and projects and explain them clearly to prospects and donors in writing and verbally.
  • Experience soliciting and closing gifts of $10,000 to $100,000.
  • Broad knowledge of fundraising principles.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Foundation President, consultant, and leadership team to design and implement a regionwide Grateful Patient Program.
  • Build lasting relationships with donors and prospects to secure major and planned gifts for patients, programs, and services.
  • Oversee a portfolio of 150–200 donors and prospects through identification, research-based qualification, cultivation, briefing, requests for support, follow-up, stewardship, and recognition.
  • Develop individual donor strategies and materials to renew and upgrade donor gifts.
  • Collaborate with the Development Team to enhance relationships and create fundraising and outreach opportunities.
  • Participate in the departmental portfolio review process and help maintain an organized donor stewardship system by updating constituent records.
  • Conduct major individual gift fundraising and cultivate and solicit prospects capable of gifts at the $10,000-plus level.
  • Initiate contacts with potential donors, develop cultivation strategies, move prospects toward solicitation and closure, make solicitations when appropriate, and maintain stewardship contacts.
  • Understand the needs and interests of major donors to develop relationships between them and the foundation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential.
  • Experience with Blackbaud NXT CRM software.
