Responsibilities

Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort and personal needs of patients. Assists pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. In Special Care Nurseries, is responsible for assisting with the transport of healthy, uncompromised newborns from Labor and Delivery to the newborn admission nursery, cleaning equipment used on infants in the Special Care Nursery, and ordering patient care supplies from the storeroom and stocking the Special Care Nursery area. In Renal Services, is responsible for assisting with the transportation of stable patients, preparation and maintenance of equipment, inventory and storage of supplies, and documentation of data on flow sheets. Also acts a courier, delivering and retrieving items/materials as required.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant Course
• Listed as a CNA on the Georgia Registry

OR

• Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course

OR

• Emergency Medical Tech with one (1) year experience
• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

Work Hours:

7AM-7PM
