Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in revenue strategy, go-to-market strategy, strategic finance, or a similar function at a business-to-business technology company, including at least 2 years operating at Director level or above.
  • A track record of building multi-year revenue models used by leadership teams and boards for consequential decisions.
  • Hands-on experience shaping go-to-market resource allocation through territory and book design, sales capacity planning, or marketing investment prioritization, with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Deep fluency in funnel dynamics, segmentation, pipeline economics, capacity models, and retention and expansion drivers.
  • Ability to interrogate customer relationship management-level data directly rather than relying only on summaries.
  • Experience with pricing and packaging strategy, ideally across subscription, hardware, and consumption- or usage-based monetization models.
  • People leadership experience, including the ability to build and scale a team and absorb expanded scope as the organization grows.
  • Ability to lead through influence and drive consequential decisions without unilateral authority by earning the trust of sales, marketing, product, and finance leaders.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including compressing complex analysis into clear recommendations and defending recommendations under pressure.
  • A bias toward evidence over opinion and pace over polish for reversible decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain Relay's multi-year revenue models and own the analytical foundation for growth trajectory planning, annual operating plan inputs, and macro investment decisions.
  • Continuously evaluate whether Relay's revenue engine—including sales motions, target markets, merchandising, and product differentiation—is performing at the level required to deliver its growth potential.
  • Identify where the revenue engine is falling short of the trajectory and drive the case for change.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment of go-to-market resources with market opportunity by partnering with sales leadership on book construction and assignment, marketing on focus-area prioritization, and both functions on matching capacity to segment potential.
  • Make the case for adjusting go-to-market resource deployment when market conditions change.
  • Own the analysis behind major go-to-market choices, including which segments to pursue and which models—enterprise field sales, inside sales, channel, or product-led—to deploy in each target market.
  • Evaluate macro growth investments against Relay's strategic goals and capital constraints.
  • Partner with Revenue Engineering and Product as a co-equal voice in merchandising design.
  • Provide financial modeling and customer analysis for packaging, pricing, and monetization decisions, including hardware-as-a-service structures and usage-based artificial-intelligence billing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in businesses combining hardware and software revenue, such as hardware-as-a-service or devices plus software-as-a-service.
  • Exposure to artificial-intelligence product monetization, including credits, consumption billing, or agent-based pricing.
  • Experience in frontline, industrial, or multi-site enterprise markets, including hospitality, manufacturing, or healthcare.

Relay provides a digital Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication platform for active workers in the enterprise market, replacing traditional walkie-talkies. It works over mobile and desktop devices with a voice interface, allowing users to press a button and send live voice messages while also sharing GPS location and issuing emergency alerts. Relay differentiates itself by removing range limits and security concerns of radios through a cloud-based network, unifying voice, location, and alerts across devices, and offering software integrations and ongoing feature updates via a subscription. Its goal is to improve workforce efficiency and safety by delivering reliable, scalable, and easy-to-use communication for teams in dynamic work environments.
