- Working knowledge of food handling, food sanitation, and safety.
- Maintain good hygiene and hand-washing practices.
- Possess good knife and production skills.
- Use kitchen equipment and report any deficiencies, including issues with knife handling and cooking techniques such as braising, sautéing, searing, and grilling.
- Perform recipe conversion and measuring.
- Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Create a consistent quality product and culinary experience while providing customer service, presentation, and a clean and safe eating environment.
- Ensure food product quality, taste, appearance, and adequate portions.
- Read and follow company recipes.
- Keep the assigned work area clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Follow daily menus and preparation lists.
- Work independently at the assigned station.
- Anticipate customer needs and build rapport with repeat customers.
- Provide a positive customer experience through engagement and presentation.
- Suggest add-ons to customer orders.
- Take direction and adapt to change.
- Lead by example and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Maintain consistent work and output.
- Complete additional projects and assignments as needed.
- Follow proper food labeling and serving-temperature practices, including first in, first out (FIFO).
- One to three years of previous cooking experience.
- ServeSafe and allergen certifications.
- Culinary education in progress or completed.
