Requirements
- A degree in Engineering or Science in any discipline is preferred.
- Eight years of work experience relevant to project management in construction or the natural gas/oil industry, including three to five years of direct project management experience.
- Professional Engineer, Engineering Licensee, or eligibility for registration with APEGS will be strongly considered.
- Project Management Certificate(s), such as PMI-PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, are required.
- Prosci certification is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for coordinating across teams and presenting ideas to stakeholders.
- Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
- A continuing record of professional development and continuous learning is required.
- A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams to deliver projects within defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements to meet business needs and strategic objectives.
- Define, plan, track, and manage assigned projects.
- Develop and implement the overall project plan, including creating, executing, and monitoring detailed project plans.
- Plan, develop, and execute project communications and status reporting, including organizing, scheduling, and facilitating regular project team meetings, stakeholder updates, and project reports.
- Coordinate cross-discipline communication and collaboration to establish team collaboration and foster a positive team environment that achieves project objectives.
- Develop and manage project schedules, including creating work breakdown structures and task lists, identifying task dependencies, and assigning resources.
- Coordinate and supervise the timely completion of project deliverables.
- Motivate project teams and use resources to ensure work is performed on time and to the appropriate quality.
- Initiate requests for proposals using SaskEnergy's established processes; plan and manage vendor selection, contract negotiation, and contract creation; administer and close out contracts.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks and issues, escalating them to ensure timely resolution.
- Gather cost estimates; create project budgets; forecast, track, and control costs to ensure projects finish within budget.
- Identify stakeholders and manage their expectations, ensuring they are informed and agree with project progress and anticipated results.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
