Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of telecommunications training and/or experience is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and profitability at the Technician III level is required.
  • Exceptional ability in telephony beyond the general parameters of installation and technical expertise is required.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems is required.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and good judgment is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting or moving up to 70 pounds, are required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, are required.
  • Ability to efficiently use a Windows-based computer is required.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and on time is required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% is required.
Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain structured cabling, integrated voice and data systems, key systems, networks, wireless systems, central office equipment, and related infrastructure.
  • Complete additions, removals, changes, upgrades, and maintenance for service contracts.
  • Perform engineering for new projects.
  • Manage assigned tool inventory and ensure tools are current on calibration.
  • Submit engineering change requests or redlines for changes affecting work items, assignments, or specifications.
  • Write and present methods of procedure for customer approval.
  • Stage equipment and inventory materials for accuracy.
  • Assign specific tasks to subordinates and monitor their work for efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure accuracy in the installation of all equipment.
  • Test wiring and installations for completeness and correctness.
  • Coordinate power cuts with customers within the maintenance window.
  • Complete and submit accurate final project paperwork to customers on time.
  • Manage projects from start to completion, delivering quality, timely, and profitable results.
  • Complete quality assurance procedures and check final products for errors.
  • Ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of the crew.
  • Interface with customer contacts on projects and work orders.
  • Interface with end users and coordinate with other vendors when required by customers.
  • Provide technical support to customer contacts and technicians.
  • Attend project planning and progress meetings with or without assigned customer contacts.
  • Adhere to and promote environmental, health, and safety policies and telecommunications standards.
  • Perform other related construction or telecommunications duties as assigned, including ground support, site preparation, equipment maintenance, warehouse support, or assistance with other company projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical Business School experience or education is desired.
