Requirements
  • Pursuing an associates, bachelors, masters, or PhD and graduating December 2025 – July 2026
  • Available to participate in a 12-week internship starting in late-May or mid-June
  • Currently residing in the US or open to relocating oneself to the US
  • Exhibits learning agility; has the ability to think differently, and/or grasp and apply new skills and concepts
  • Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner
  • Works well with others and contributes to team tasks
  • Able to effectively communicate problems, solutions, needs, or priorities
  • Is engaged, seeks to learn, and is able to manage time effectively
  • Candidates must apply with a resume and a link to their portfolio to be considered
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or other game engines
  • An understanding of fundamental game design principles and what makes games fun
  • Strong ability to collaborate with others and incorporate feedback into your designs
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and a solid math foundation
  • Strong writing skills for wording of abilities, items, features, mechanics, tooltips, and more
  • Analytical skills for evaluating gameplay systems and interpreting player behavior
  • Possess an interest of how enemy/creature mechanics play in a combat model
  • Experience designing and building creatures and encounters
  • Familiarity with AI scripting and logic
  • Experience creating 3D terrain for game engines (Unreal, Unity, Lumberyard etc)
  • A keen interest in the level design processes including, but not limited to; level flow, engagement design, visual worldbuilding, pacing, storytelling, etc.
  • Good spatial and layout design skills, accompanied with solid game design sensibilities
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with artists, designers, and engineers to create, implement, and polish gameplay around existing systems and mechanics
  • Learn how game systems and game content work together to create a fun and compelling player experience
  • Help drive long-term player engagement through various game-wide systems such as combat, rewards, and activities
  • Work closely with our design team on scripting events, systems implementation, design documentation, and all things gameplay related
  • Collaborate with our design and engineering teams to build gameplay experiences that inspire, satisfy, and challenge our players
  • Create fun and interesting levels by utilizing environmental composition, 3D terrain sculpting, and detailed visual storytelling through asset placement
