Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required.
  • Strong Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and variance analysis expertise is required.
  • Experience with NetSuite enterprise resource planning systems is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage accounting staff and cross-functional teams is required.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills are required; advanced Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing Accounting and Finance technology platforms is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization is required.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams is required.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and use the hands and arms to handle, feel, or reach is required.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 15 pounds is required.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, payroll, and end-of-month and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure financial records adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory standards.
  • Drive best practices in NetSuite enterprise resource planning across all areas of the business and serve as a financial systems resource for Served with Honor.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff.
  • Assist with budget preparation, cash management, and forecasting while analyzing variances between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Assist with preparation for audits.
  • Coordinate with and prepare reports for the Chief Financial Officer and upper management.
  • Work across all levels of the organization to resolve issues, improve processes, and assist with staff education and training.
  • Supervise employees in the Accounting and Finance department, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Certified Public Accountant credential is strongly preferred.
  • Power BI or a similar reporting tool is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills are desirable.
